You have to right click either of these:

• Subforum name
• Subforum description
• Thread name
• 'Created by'

This post has just given me an idea.. However it doesn't sound particularly easy to implement:

There's a gap on quick reply between the message options (ending with the QFC button) and the edge of the box. Could we have a "Shortcuts" button there?

The Shortcuts menu would have a list of 5 (10?) items which you commonly use in your posts, these could be alt codes, common quick find codes, even BBCodes for people who talk in colour. (Although this sort of already exists)

The menu item that you press would be inserted where-ever the caret currently is.

I think it'd be pretty useful, opinion?

Basic rule of thumb is Quick QFC's come from right clicking navigation links, the exception is the posts link and QFC badge at bottom of the page, they are left clicked.

Ironically there is no quick way to explain the ins and outs of the Quick QFC :)

Edit: In reply to your suggestion I have something similar in mind. I need to find the mock up images I made though, hopefully I'll post them later :)

The idea is for custom buttons such as...

- extra BB colours
- text to image codes like ­Support or ­<3
- QFC's (I hadn't thought of that)
- Text
- Links

Not sure about the interface, but buttons down the side was my first thought.

That's quite nice - I do have a question though, would that extend the length of the quick message box, or would it take space out of the current dimensions? I fear some people may use "really small" chrome windows.

Another thing: Would there be any prevention against abuse? One line only for text, maybe? X amount of characters? I fear some people could use them to abuse the already-existing 4 line signature limit.

After much procrastinating I have one in the making, will be a while before it's finished. But when it is complete it'll be one of my best and most needed updates :)

Edit: @Rowley, yep it would be slightly larger, but since I'd re-centre the text area I think it would only add a small amount to the width.

I could also add a drop down like what the colours use if it was a problem.
