Thanks for gallery update Rowley
Twitter is easy to embed, I've already looked into this some time ago.
But posts for non linkify users will look much the same as it does when a J Mod signature is quoted.
Reddit have the an advantage that I don't have. All their users see the same thing. I like to consider those who don't use linkify (poor souls) as well. That means the standard embed code is out of the question.
Twitter's oEmbed for developers might be worth looking into, but I can't do the caching they recommend from a browser extension. It might not be an issue, not sure yet.
It looks as though a standard twitter URL could be embedded by RS Linkify, however there are some things I need to determine first. I don't know how twitter links work. For example is embedding different for headlines, a tweet, a conversation, a profile, and so on? I have no clue. If all parameters can be determined from a simple link then, it could work well, but again I have no clue.
I need to learn about twitter, I'm fine with the API, but I don't know what the generic terms in twitter actually mean.
Also what's with the embed preview that looks nothing like the result from using the embed code? Not sure if I'm missing something with that, but the preview looks great, the embed code produces a bit of crappy plain text, and that's with media enabled.
Edit: figured out why it looked crappy, cross origin scripting is preventing it but I think I can work around that.
Anyway I'll look into again and see what I can do
Edit #2
I have got tweets embedding, but I'm not sure about some things, like embedding a conversation for example. Still need to read up some more I guess.
Here's how it will look...

I'll do an update in a little while, just need to tidy up what I have written
