Yea, remember that being an issue for a while. The solution I used was creating a userscript to completely rework the reply box

That seems like a good plan, I'd really like to see what's going on in the console when that problem occurs. I have a feeling there are some ugly unhandled errors getting thrown.

Hmmm I have an idea, but I need more coffee.

Likely a badly closed piece of code in a JMod sig or something similar (wouldn't be the first time), or badly implemented jquery code which I've experienced on the forums previously.

I seem to remember there were quite a few issues when the quick reply box (bottom of page) was first implemented. For instance the textarea was about half the size of the actual background image that it was meant to sit on, which caused some repeats in the image display at the bottom of the screen. Overriding some of those styles *might* resolve the issue.

Thanks Krylla, I'm going to make CSS styles the first place I start.

I'm also thinking I might add a try/catch for their script errors. I really didn't want to do that, but I have to handle things out of my control. At least then I can die gracefully until I find the actual cause.

You've given me some good insight into the issue, I had no idea that this kind of thing is nothing new.

No problem. Spent a lot of time doing similar fixes myself. I no longer have the scripts since I don't have access to that particular computer anymore and also haven't used the forum for quite a long time. If I stumble on any potential fix I'll let you know.

I just had a revelation.. If Linkify ever stopped working for an extended period of time, I don't think I'd use the forums nearly as often lol

I really don't like using these forums without it, but sometime I do just to compare. It's mostly the little things that make the biggest impact for me. I know I'd be less active without it too.

Had two thoughts that I wished to interrogate question you about :)

Is it possible to color threads on our profile that were created by us before that option existed? I know it would be far too much loading to go through every one and do so, but if the thread is currently on our profile, and we visit it anyway, can it perform the check while we're there and remember it to apply that?

The second one I've forgotten already, so I'll come back later! lol

Yep it is. Make sure you have Version 3.0.1.3 else this method wont work.

You need to trick RS Linkify in order to do it.

- Copy the thread name from your profile.
- Create New thread and paste name in the thread title field.
- Type a some gibberish in the post, just a few characters.
- Preview it ( Don't Submit ).
- Navigate away from Thread Creation.

And that's it, that thread will now appear yellow in your profile.

If you have multiple threads to add, don't navigate out of Thread Creation, just paste in a new title and preview and repeat until done.

I might as well mention what's in version 3.0.1.3 while I'm here.

- Fixes to the profile page, yellow text stopped getting updated from version 3 because I forgot to include it (oops).

- Time conversions now apply to the forum main page.

- I've attempted to handle the forum bug Hardstylez mentioned on previous page, but since I've never encountered it, I don't know how effective it will be.

- I have changed some error handling, so RS Linkify aborts earlier and more gracefully  if a forum glitch or problem is encountered.

- Oh yeah and the snow has been removed too.

I think that's about it :)
