I'll see what I can find out.

Someone has to look after these great sections. ;)

- The HLF should remain a 'no FMod moderation' space unless under emergencies. A part of me feels like FMods should be allowed to change thread titles or lock threads at the request of the thread owner only.

F-Mods can do title changes if requested or they spot a misstyped title. It can be fixed.

The HLF community asked Jagex to let the F-Mods do some emergancy house keeping. And some do do some including Me. We have rules for this section though that differ from the main forums. Also we stick to them like glue. The last thing anyone wants is a fall out within the community.

It's very rare to see moderation in here or in OT as everyone is nice. ;)

I fought tooth and nail to keep HLF OT section and will do so again if it's ever needed. :D

As for the badge. I got to agree it's a little too high and I'm not going to get it any time in the 21st century lol. I'll try my best but it's going to be a tough call even for me.

I have to say I'm not sure about repealing the bans in here and eltting people back in. I remember it wasn't a nice place at the time. I do agree people mature and grow up. So it needs more thought before I could agree with you there. Nice idea but not sure.

Some good ideas and suggestions. ;)

Jagex seriously needs to consider removing themselves from the cess pool that is reddit. It's not like they have to create the forums from scratch, they've existed in this form for years. What would they really need to do to keep it in line with reddit?

I'm not sure how many of you follow other games, but recently fortnite have made some questionable decisions regarding items and game mechanics and they reddit fortnite community descended like locusts and the toxicity was immense. No moderation, no strikes, no bans. Some of the language used was horrendus, you'd be fired, get kicked out of school and in some cases arrested for acting like that off the internet.

In simple, the forums is a place where the jagex mods can exert their influence upon the community, many of whom are impressionable children.

Yes we're playfully toxic to each other, I myself like to "nobody cares" meme. However, we're not hateful and that is what should be cultivated.

Read this BEFORE posting on this thread:

- Please do not derail the thread with off topic. With the change of curators, we as a community have the chance to change the HLF for the better. Stick to the topic please.

UtaChao those are some pretty valid points but its completely off-topic... maybe make your own thread about this issue? :)

I've made this point many times over the years. Simply substitute forums for HLF and it remains valid. The HLF is a community, or at least could be a community if we wanted it to be. I want it to have a future, but it requires Jmods to function properly. They legitimise the forums with their presence and the HLF will have a future, it's that simple.

Its likely the HLF won't have a curator and it will continue as normal since Lee hardly did anything anyway
True, but some moderation needs doing if things get out of hand?

Random thoughts:
We should focus on reviving this forum section and bringing it back to it's old glory. This should be the premier place for in-depth discussion of in-game content, ideas, balance and strats.

All the current rules and stickies are fine.

Should we receive a new curator then all the HLF bans should be revoked for the most part. However, in order to return back to HLF the account(s) in question must still be eligible.

Having people automatically added to this forum will not alert them of it's existence.

OSRS deserves it's own HLF section. Attempting to share forum sections between the games would cause issues.

which is why they should give in-game notifications when someone maxes that they can post on the HLF, they already do this with news posts (and I think Twitch streams?) and they're clickable too so you don't even have to log in to the forums yourself, you can just be redirected to the HLF welcome thread.

It's astonishing not only the lack of foresight but also cultivation that Jagex exhibits.
