figurative dock

'dock' is not the word that I first read O_o

almost like that was intentional

Haha

Tbh, I like the idea of no jmod interaction. Behind the scene videos where we aren't subjected to materialisations of the staff employed, no in game events or references in dialogue. There needs to be a belief that what we feel is being looked into, however, I think that maybe mods are talking to us to distract us from the fact that they seem to have no idea what is going on.

I'm not sure if it's still a thing, but I remember when Jmods were releasing artwork and that sort of thing if their own twitter account got enough followers. It's very useful to be able to interact with them when you find a high priority issue or if there's a piece of information that can't be clarified from the player's end. However, any Jmod could fill most of these and it's no more important for a specific Jmod name to be attached to it than just a generic Jagex account.

I think what I'm trying to ask is, what do you think is wrong with our forums and is there a fix?
It's far too late to fix anything tbh, and the changes they did do were 5 years too late.

To be honest, I think there's far too much of a personality cult associated with JMods.

From today's news post:

""
We love Mod Shauny. He’s the goebie-loving mother hen of our community, continually going above and beyond to please Gielinor’s adventurers. He may soon need his own Popemobile.
""

Here's the thing: he's apparently BOTH a developer, and in community management. Given the widely different skills that these roles require, how is it reasonable to expect one person to excel at both?

And when will we get some dedicated (i.e. full time), professional community management staff?

EDIT:

Since posting, I see that L-Mods have been reintroduced, and this looks like some kind of outsourced CM initiative. So perhaps my last question has already been answered...
