I don't think it's just HLF that's dying. More players are leaving the game. Some of the best mods have left. The biggest announcements now are for the mtx's or the events that heavily push the mtx's (i.e. either idiotic ideas like Yak Track or things like chill off that cannot be completed by players unless they basically no life the game).

Heck, the first real update of this year so far was a new quest that doesn't seem to have any requirements and takes 15 minutes to complete.

Isn't the Jagex that is interested in only making money.

Unless you've got an interesting way for them to charge, say, bonds for an Aura... or something else that has always been done one way, but if they spin it just right, they can make more money for doing the same thing.
