Does aftershock reset its damage counter if you swap targets?

If that's the case, does damage that you inflict on other enemies through AOE abilities count towards the 50K damage if you never change your main target?

Yes.

Aftershock does reset if you change weapons, though. So if you are using it in a dual weild scenario you will want to put Aftershock on your mainhand so you can defender/shield switch without losing part of your 50k stack. Unslain Bosses - Clan
