Player Owned Farm Changes

We are looking at changing how the nerf operates following feedback.

We put out the post at the harshest level we were willing to go with the nerf to see how much it needed to be toned down. Which is where most of the frustration came from.

We've seen what doesn't work, what the key sticking points are, and we've readjusted some of those numbers and the way some of them work.

We're currently playtesting the new iteration of nerfs internally as if players were playing it and we've already changed some of the new changes so we're not ready to announce any concrete numbers just yet.

One of the things we're looking into is changing some of the other factors around but increasing how much the XP is reduced by is a possibility - countering that by removing some of the other parts of the nerf.

We want to make the content feel the same.

...so now we wait and see. The numbers better be drastically toned down next time they put some forward if PoF is to survive these nerfs as the original numbers were beyond excessive with 6.67/10/13.33x (small/med/large) higher upkeep costs per time and 25x higher time requirement per successful breed on top of a more reasonable XP nerf (if it had been by itself, anyway - wouldn't even really mind a bigger nerf here personally).

Announce super-harsh "what will the players REALLY hate" nerf
Wait for emotional distress
Announce less harsh but still pretty bad nerf


Who's guessing it will be "Breeding rates will stay the same as they are now, food rates will be put half way between current and original proposal, XP will be between 0 and 50% of current based on sickness, happiness (0-25% from health, 0-25% from happiness)"

Which would be something that brings down the farm to more reasonable levels, but doesn't break the activity itself (again), since you can work on your unlocks and achievements in the same speed and wouldn't be messed just by the fact you're not finished by the time the nerf hits the game - albeit I'd certainly prefer if they wouldn't just apply the same modifier everywhere - dragons need a nerf, zygos certainly also a bit - but other animals certainly not to the very same exten - and well: why the hell are the lowest creatures nerfed at all?

yeah I never used breed pen for breeding but for egg hatchery to make my own ados for raptor. tryin to read my 80% breed chance cuts to like 15% sucks thickest ass. its bad. I hate it. I really wish they would make new news saying "ha haha he is from barcelona. we dont mean it."
