No idea. I kept the same number when I switched from a BT phone line to a sky landline.
Almost certain that the issue is the MAC address of the router is not authenticating correctly with the sky servers, thus no internet light on the hub but getting sky to check this is a nightmare..
If it's not that then it has to be an issue at the exchange but again getting sky to send someone to check this is a nightmare.

Im with BT this is all done remotely without someone coming out, sounds like it maybe router issues. Try turning off for 20 secs and reboot.
I was planning moving to Sky but I did hear if you need to leave you have to get a new phone number. I don't fancy that as mine is nice and easy to dial.
