On voice chat: I do not think it is necessary to put the resources into it really. People who are interested are already finding their way, and those who wish to join them can. I'm sure there are instructions in the forum already.
I'm tired of the attitude that people who are civil toward others should just take whatever rudeness and abusiveness comes. There do need to be rules for acceptable behavior which will be enforced, and I think that will take a lot more person-hours than you realize even if they come up with an ignore list for voice channels.
I'd rather the time be spent on constructive creativity rather than just trying to stay a step ahead of trolls and flamers. As I said above, those who wish to join the voice chats already have their methods without having to drag Jagex into it. And some of the available methods for voice are very inexpensive, but Jagex would probably want to develop it as a profitable extension and charge a fee.

Spam would sound awful.
Theres a 59% chance of you potentially temporarily losing the ability to hear whilst going through G.E
Of course you could set it to friends only.
I wouldn't want to hear very loud SELLING SS PL0x 5m SELLING LIVING MINERALS MAKE OFFER etc etc.

I do not use voice chat. Yet I would use a voice chat if runescape made one! I think that your voice can express more then simple text. But I also think it could be bad for the people that dont want to here cursing.

I'm not gonna lie, it doesnt sound like that great of an idea.
Sure people use the independent voice chats, but i think it would be too much for RS to handle.
Like previous comments, the G.E. would be insane. too many people would be speaking in their mics at one time to hear anything at all.
also, how would the various types of chat work? like private chat and clan chats, as well as keeping up public chat at the same time?
Also when bossing, if the bosses say something that hints towards another attack, like Nex or Nomad (although nomad gives a chat box warning too AND nomad isnt a team boss, but if you were in a clan chat or had various PM's going through) if your mic is blasting sound from all of your other friends talking at once?
I think it's just be a bit crazy.

It's jagex fixing what aint broken again, also: I don't fancy ******* screaming into their mics, that gets ******* irritating and you can't report it.

I think it's the best idea ever.
But instead of using that for a public chat, maybe have it for clan chat or just a new tab all together. And of course having the ability to invite people to the party, kick people, etc.
Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to seeing if this is added to the game :)
