didnt know there was a voice chat, sounds awesome be cool for everything just to talk with ur friends without typing even better to be able to talk in pvp without typing and then getting killed

I think this would be Awesome, maybe an exclusive Runescape Ventrilo that you need to be a Runescape member or user to go into that'd be pretty neat. Something along those lines.
ALSO!!!!! I think its time that Runescape starts to think about making a Group/Party option when you right click on someone. I feel that you should be able to Party up with friends other than just for Dungeoneering. Such as being able to Party up and fight monsters for shared EXP and maybe shared Loot. I feel that it'd make Runescape a much more enjoyable experience to have an exclusive Party that me and my friends can be in any world, any event, and be in a party interface similar to Clan Chat, but be able to meet up and fight monsters together for shared EXP and Loot. Anyone agree?

I use voice chat while fighting bosses because its much easier to communicate over voice, than it is too type. One reason is that like some people, I look at the text just to make sure that I have no errors in what I am writing, and that the information is clear so they can get my point. Doing this over voice allows me to keep watch on my hitpoints while I am fighting, and keeps my hand on the mouse so I can eat really fast, or drink a potion.
In regards of Runescape hosting their own Voice chat. It would be kind of hard because we have a lot of young people on the game that are not used to the mature game players. Yes, it would be really cool to have on the game, but to get people to respect the rules of the chat would be very hard.
I think to make this chat available to people, you would put in a new "report" system for it directly. This report system would allow time stamps of players to be recorded in 3 minute times, so right when a report is hit on it, Jagex can take proper disciplinary actions. Yes this might take a lot of space, but it would really be the only thing to protect the "young ears" in Runescape.

In all, yes. I like the idea of having a in-game voice chat, but I'm also thinking of the younger kids on the game, and their parents hearing some of the foul mouth's that todays teenagers have.

Compaired to the things I hear form kids on other games I dont think this should be a very big issue, Kids today use more foul language then I've seen or heard when I was a kid.
On top of that, Parents are the ones buy/paying for these games that influence bad behavior. If they dont want thier kids hearing/seeing bad things then they should stop buying/paying for the game.
Point being is , no matter where you look you will see this kind of behavior, there is no reason this update shouldnt happen. It would benefit those who want to use it, and those who dont want to use it just simply ignore that its there.

I totally agree with you. I would love to have this, sorry if I worded my response a little bit wrong, but I think that there should be a new "report" system for this due to trolling and stuff. Because YES I used to be one of those fat kids in school that got picked on a lot till I got to high school, I was from another state so I got picked on due to my accent. If this update were to happen I'd like to have some type of differnet reporting system that goes like, Report for name calling, Report for being rude<<<<I'd love that ^.^ (was just a joke though)
I would use this system, but its the people that would take things too far. Sure you can ban them, or mute them ect. But they are just going to do it again. I think they should have to work to get the right to use the system again.

Say they get reported for just going off on someone and trolling them for no reason. They should have to go through some type of quest/mini game on the system about the rules of using the system. And make it take around 30 minutes so they would rather not be reported again.
I mean, they are not really going to ban someone for doing that. That would just be kinda stupid, first of all they might loose money, because high levels would get banned, and be like, uhhh yeah I'm done.
I dont know if that came through okay, but thats kinda how I feel about this.

To, the person who thought up a ventrillo server for RS: An exclusive runescape Ventrillo, or Teamspeak server is that a joke? Those things would run up the bill, for Jagex.
Also how could players personalize their own teamspeak servers if you only have a teamspeak server, for RS itself? It makes no sense.
I think it'd be great if Jagex took a very personal approach to voice chat, and make proprietary technology that's exclusive to runescape, and funorb.
For, those who are afraid of peer pressure, or harassment. It's called using the ignore button. Half the time I wonder if girls honestly play this game, it'll be great since we can tell. A lot of male scammers act like girls, in order to scam their rs "bf". What a blessing rs voice chat will be.
It would also help, when determining if someone is trying to scam me, or if someone is truly being friendly, or acting like they're friendly. The verbal communication adds Much needed transparency, when determining who we want as RS friend's. Also, it becomes easier to determine who's conning. I mean I find it easy to hang the telephone on telemarketers. So, it'll be just as easy. When it comes to runescape scam artists.
Honestly,to all of you naysayers. I recommend you use voice chat technology while playing a game, and then judge the benefits/cons. Yes, you meet some annoying people. But, don't we always meet annoying people whether it be in game, or in real life? But, as an added benefit we can communicate better, and what's the root word of community? Communicate, and if we can communicate better, we build a stronger RS community.
That's my belief, and chances are there will be those who dislike this idea. But, for me it would be awesome. I could talk with my irl rs friend's more on rs. Than I could ever talk with them, Over mobile phone, and chances are I'll meet people who can relate to me, and I know they relate to me because you can tell a genuine person, by how they sound

Posting your issues/problems/asking for help, in ye olde text format on forums doesnt work, so yeah give me jamspeak2 pl0x, if i can speak to a tech/customer help type person.
As for chatting to my mates on rs, i am geordie so no one can understand what i say anyways lol
Let me guess, you would need the flamgex toolbar installed to use this sort of chat?
How about fixing the crap that came bundled with dungeoneering, which you had been working on for 6 years (or 1 and a half years) if you listened to RF mod crapchat, B4 you start introducing more stuff that will make the game glitchier than ever?
If you do *cough* i mean when you do bring this voicespeak thing along can i have free headfone set pl0x? lol
I liked the profanity filter update...how about a jagex bullpoop filter, so i dont have listen to this crap anymore, cos you dont listen to me?!

I for one extreamly support this idea of bringing in voice communication into the game.
The main purpose for this is to keep all hands on what the player is doing while passing information to a ally player.
such as bandos when having to say using special attack that he should or should not use there's aswell. in this case i love this idea and i support it.
