This is a bad idea to add this to Runescape, millions of people already use Skype and ventrillo just to talk to friends or if your in a warring clan most of them require vent.
Also this would most likely cause Runescape to slow down a lot since some players don't have good internet connections to handle this, and i would really hate to hear a random 10 year old swear. :|

It depends. I never ever use voice chat because of mic spam.. But if RuneScape had a feature where you could use voice chat to talk with a specific group of people, ie. your friends or dungeoneering party, then I suppose it would be cool. It would feel weird though. Voice chat on RuneScape..

I think this is a great idea. It would make it much easier to do group events or just talk with your friends with out having to type long sentances that get cut off when you type to much. I would like to see a slight extension to that as well, but its probably there for a reason.
I think that instead of using skype to talk have an option for rs, when I normally use skype my rs character lags..
This is something I would love to have in the game.

Tbh, If you dont want to use a voice chat simply dont use it. There is no reason for them to not add this feature to
the game.
If you dont want to talk that is your choice, and you should be able to mute people or choose who you chat with.
The thing is it should be an "option" and if you dont want to use the voice chat then keep typing, and to protect children who are between 10-14 years of age you should block the option to them.
Also voice mods would be fun lol, I've always wanted to sound like a chipmunk lol.

I've heard way too many horror stories about backtracing IP addresses then hacking from video chats. If RS can use a type of service where IP addresses are hidden, I would most likely use it.
That way you get to hear my nasally mid-pubescent voice and all of the rock songs that I blast at deafening volume while I play the game.

Personally, I am satisfied with the current chat systems.
My main concern with the possibility of voice chat being implemented is security. Without targeting anyone in particular, there are many 'nasty' people on the internet looking to do 'nasty' things. I would hope that if this feature were to be implemented, it would not be usable in a private chat setting...If you get my drift.
Also, how would we be able to identify who said what? Would we be able to report what someone said verbally if it seriously violated the rules of RuneScape? I'm not trying to be a killjoy, I am just curious as to how dealing with offensive users would work?
