Could be interesting. Could also be annoying. First off, I didn't know java could handle voice chat, but oh well. second, it would have to be done very carefully, because no one wants to use it if all they end up hearing is spam. Maybe limit it to friends, or only in a short range, say the minimap area.

Please, I beg you guys, make it NOTHING like Skype. Skype is a piece of trash when it comes to gaming. It's good for catching up with the family, but I'd prefer not to hear people slamming keys and clicking and breathing down the mic non stop.
Make the voice chat PTT (push to talk) like ventrilo.

I never use any form of third party voice chat when I play Runescape, being very much a solitary player. If I did, I'd probably use Skype or something similar.
However, for the sake of online anonymity, I could see a RS Client voice chat service being a welcome addition. I certainly wouldn't oppose its development.
