I think this would be easily abusable. I wouldn't use it and have it off always. Also, muted should obviously not be allowed to SPEAK (other than a computer generated voice version of Quickchat), but should be allowed to HEAR, like Quickchat now.
This is a terrible idea. Essentially you will force people to use your software when they are in a clan chat. I mean, it is kind of hard to know what is going on if you are not privy of half the conversation.
So what? You want me to either not participate fully in my CC, or you want me to decide listening to people talk via rs is more valuable than listening to my iPod, or a movie, or pretty much anything else?
Yeah... No thanks. Please stop trying to alienate large parts of your player base.
Currently, i use Skype as well as Oovoo. I use it for many different reasons but mostly in daemonhiem. While navigating rooms, you dont have time to type, its a distraction, so, i'm all for voice chat in Rs, but worried about if people would spam.
I personally own a 50 slot ventrilo server which i use with my mates to communicate. We hardly talk to eachother in game because it's just too much effort typing.I'd say it's worth a try adding this update. It's pretty usefull if your fighting in Godwars as you can easily communicate without taking your hands off your mouse to type.
If this update does get confirmed it would be nice to add a Talking Hotkey as in you can select what button on your keyboard to talk with.It would be best only using [PTT]Push to talk as players could get annoyed with hearing things in a teammates microphone.
Hello there Story House here,
So I can say that I've never used voice chat when gaming, but I use Skype from time to time to talk to people. As for RuneScape having this poll gets me thinking that Jagex wants to start something like this in-game. Now, we just had the chat filter update and that's caused a lot of unrest in the P Mod community, or so I've heard. So I am here to say that IF Jagex decides to open up a voice chat in RuneScape, how dangerous this could be for the players of the game. How would Jagex's rules apply to voice chat? WOULD they apply?
This idea of voice chat in-game would cause MANY issues that conflict with the game's rules. People would see that there's no way Jagex could stop them from cybering, giving away/asking for personal details or even asking for a players pass or recoveries. The game would become a little bit more corrupt. The rules were created to protect players from this type of thing occurring. What are you thinking Jagex? First the filter and now this?
I love this game. I really like Jagex as a company, but some of their decisions seem a bit contradictory to what they once were, once upon a time.
Thanks for the Stories!
