I'd like it if you updated us on your progress or something about the voice chat idea. I wouldn't like it if you dropped this project and leave us wondering when your going to release it or have this suddenly released months later out of the blue. Even though you have facebook or whatever to release progress of some things I'd really like to see little bits of your progress with things on the front page more.

While I don't use voice chat when I play RS, I actually think it's not a bad idea.
I have only one question... how many of you are willing to PAY MORE just to have that feature?
I definately won't, especially since there are free voice chat programs available. :|

Support if it's a free service
I've used Ventrilo and Skype for years with clans and friends in RS.
This is helpful when trying to guide friends with quest problems or communicating in dungeons. It's so much easier than typing. It also makes tedious skills like thieving, rune crafting and agility seem to go faster when you can actually talk to someone...it's kind of a pain to type all the time and train at the same time.

So the only way this is going to work is with the return of the profanity filter.
Mine Is On Permanantly By The Way.
And it's got reduclas the amount of ******* thast are popping up in public text since you took off the filter.

I sure As Heck don't wanna hear it while I'm running a list of falling stars or scouting evil tree's. And A Dam Sure Don't Wanna hear it while in te ge or on a quets.
Beside's paying for something else on top of all my other comitments is out of the question.
You Wanna Foist this on Us. YOU Jagex, need to make the voice server part of R S not have us have to go elsewhere for the server

I think its really a great idea to use voice chat instead of typing... sometimes in clan wars, I tend to forget the "/" sign and than talk in the public especially our clan's strategy and our oppenent would be able to counter it, but with voice chat, we don't have to worry about being careless

Sorry to burst your bubble but if u go to page 17 of this thread you'll see that yaoi99 already pointed out that Mod Mark basically admitted it won't be free if implemented.
This is her post and the thread with the info. Mod Mark posted twice on the page.

Um, why would people bother to pay for something they already have...???
So many people use ****, etc, for chatting while playing it's a bit late in the game to think they're going to pay for it just because it's a Jagex application.
Now if Jagex wants to give us voice chat - something directly IN GAME without the need to go to and pay for and use another application - I'm all for it. Until then I'll just stay with what I've got.
