i think it's a great idea because i often use skype for talking in game, it isn't anoying when you are doing stuff like godwars dungeon. but like som already said, there is going to be an overflow of people who ask others for personal details like pass and scamming and stuff.
if you decide to put it in the game, please make sure you get a system that can record the last 5 min of the people who talks, just like report abuse now. but yhea... you should realy take the time about this and don't make any mistakes or program fails.

i personally do not use voice chat,but i think it could definatly be a good future update for runescape,if the time time and effort were put into it.i think i good idea would to have options for it.an example,a option to hear all players,an option to hear all friends on youre friends list,and a option to hear individual players one at the time.this is just an idea,so dont flame me please.if anything was misspelt or bad grammar,im sorry english is not my mother tongue.thanks for youre time!

I enjoy my online gaming, and I like to have the best experience in each game that I play, I've met a lot of wonderful people on this game, who are really "hard-core" RuneScape Fanatics, which is great! - however they tend to dislike many others games, which means if I wish to stay in contact with them I have a few options, 1 is to have them added to a chat client and keep flickering windows between game plays or option 2 which is my and their preferred choice
There is a program there, which I won’t mention the name of, which integrates into many games allowing people to communicate with each other (speech/text) during game-play of any game, which in my opinion is a wonderful thing, for example if I were playing another game such as CoD. - and a friend of mine on RuneScape, fancied a quest, or needed my help, they no longer need to wait for me to check my chat client, or wait till I log in, they can interact with me via this 'Tool' instantly, which means whenever I'm "gaming" I'm never out of touch with anyone be it on RuneScape or elsewhere.
This is the main reason why I use that tool, however the only shame is that tool is not integrated into RuneScape - which means it's somewhat a one way solution, If Jagex were to be king enough to investigate the 'Tool' in question and see if there is a viable solution then I'm almost certain the majority of players would not only give the "thumbs" up to such an update, but will get the most out of their gaming experience.

Hey Jagex,
I definitely use voice chat to communicate with my friends. It takes less time to voice your opinions to others than it does to type about 2-5 sentences. If you were planning on including a voice chat program into the RuneScape coding, I would absolutely support it, since I wouldn't have to download another program just to talk to my friends.
In short....Voice chat is awesome! :D
