To all the people complaining about how ther will be too much arguing, bad idea, etc..
Obviousley Jagex will not make it public, you will be able to host/inv/ players to a call much like other programs for this.
If It's a bad idea to you, don't use it.
Problem solved, don't ruin it for others by turning it down because it's not for you, if it's not for you don't use it.
Don't ruin it for the people who would use it.

Even though I feel Runescape is fine without it, this could be a great idea. However, I would be interested to see how this would work. Would it be just whoever is close enough to you would be able to hear? I personally think that this would cause a lot of problems, but would be something that's really cool to have...
I don't know though... even though this seems cool, I can't possibly figure out how it would work. Maybe you should postpone the idea for a little longer.
I like how your taking opinions on this =)

This would be a great addition for RuneScape. I use it quite often. It makes boss's and other team activities alot smoother. The 3 seconds it takes you to type in a simple response, Could mean life or death in some situations. But, I can see this being a difficult tool to add in the game. I am guessing it will be added into the clan tool. And the mods can kick/mute people that need it. Just please add different servers for this, The current ones are melting.
Also, Please don't let the smithing update be a dissappointment like the Wildy Wyrm.

I have always used voice chat.. I have for years on other games and RS was no different.. A group of friends that I gamed with on other games also use it.
I used to have my own private server (but can get pricey).. I was lucky enough to rent some space from a Clan of another game for my own server for a while, but then I just dropped it.
I currently use a free (open, public) server with a pw for our channel..
Makes EVERYTHING easier.. for helping with quests, to group fighting.. Once you use voice chat during these times.. you will never want to type again.. besides, so many things are lost in type chat.. That are completely clear in voice..
This is why I always use it.. As long as a group of us are playing of course.
Would be nice to have RS rent a couple servers and let us use them with the ability to make and use our own channels and pw them.. As sometimes they are full on the more popular servers.
GO JAGEX! this is loooong overdue.

Well i played runescape, and then i quit and played world of warcraft. Used a third party voice chat to talk to my friends. Fortunetly i went back to runescape ^_^ and it would be a very good idea to make a non third party voice chat system on runescape. But only if someones in someones clan chat, or something like that.

I would much enjoy a CONTROLLED voice chat system.
I'm sure you obviously wouldnt just have a giant cluster of voice chat all in one, that would just be chaos. Which is what I dont think everyone understands. There will clearly be some way of having to invite into the voice chat system, which would be perfect.
I think a well controlled voice-chat system would be exactly what runesape needs. My computer can't run runescape and a voice chat messenger at once, and I have a mic, so if there was a combined voice chat added onto runescape it would be perfect for my situation.
So yes, I strongly SUPPORT voice-chat.
