well i think its a great idea, but i wanna know like.. would it just be voice? or video and voice? and how would our friends hear us? would they need voice chat as well? and what would we need for this? and when are they gonna let us try it out? sooo many questions sorry

I am in support of this idea, it would make voice chatting easier, provided:
1) It is NOT public, free-for-all chat. The amount of random garble in high-traffic areas, such as the Grand Exchange, would be ridiculous, and a waste of effort/time.
2) Being able to 'PM' voice, much like sending a message, except opening a channel, that either party can close or mute at any time. (Similar interface among clan voice chats)
3) Being able to report voice chats, in the same ways you report text chat.
4) The ability to completely turn voice off and on, like you can for text channels.
5) A server for voice chatting, to prevent extremely high ping.

I totally agree with the implementation of a voice chatting feature on RuneScape. Although I don't use it, I think it will be very useful for all users, as writing all things your are thinking is, most of the times, difficult and slow.

This would be a FANTASTIC idea, as long as it would be allowed to ALL players, F2P AND P2P. This would make clan fights and other activities much more enjoyable. Actual speaking creates a much more intense gameplay because your communication is INSTANT, rather than having to type. This would increase the popularity of Runescape extremely, and I think it is an AMAZING idea.

Anyways. Voice chat an Runescape would be good for some activities, where typing can mess you up. For example; power mining. If you power mine something like Iron, it respawns quickly, and sometimes you have competition. If you have to type something out to someone, then you can lose some ore and some time. Or say you're in the Wild. You're typing something out and someone comes along and attack you.
But is it a feature I'd use? No. I wouldn't want to voice chat with total strangers, only my friends. Or people I've known online for a long time. For that reason, I use my instant messenger instead.
