I have visited the clan section of the forums. I personally think it's nice - it's great for people who are looking to join a clan, since the forums portray the wide range of clans available.
However, it can be hard work for a clan to keep their thread alive as it involves a lot of updating and bumping. :P

Answer:
I've browsed through those forums a few times, mainly looking for partners for the God Wars Dungeons, Corporeal Beast etc... Other than that, I have no use for them. :)
