Mod Kathy, Mod Timbo,
You wrote "So this update is going to bring joy to a wide variety of players, not just PKers slaying helpless penguin hunters."
Before I read this I did not believe that Jagex deliberately lures the young and inexperienced players to the wildy to provide "joy" for the kind of PKers who like to pick on weaker players.
I find this rather sad. I have heard of two players who are canceling their membership after reading your post. Never been closer to canceling myself. I love this game and if I get better quests because you get more money thats allright with me. I am just really disappointed to see, that I was wrong and you really feed those noob players to the PKers. How many of them will keep their membership after being betrayed in the wild?

Penguins are like the force. They have a light side and a dark side and they err... smell of fish?

Agree with ^^^ about:
" So this update is going to bring joy to a wide variety of players, not just PKers slaying helpless penguin hunters. "
Never thought Jagex could be so disrespectful and inconsiderate of all its players. I'd love to see the statistics of how many regular PK'ers there are compared to how many regular Penguin Hunters there are.
I'm pretty sure we all know who would win there and yet the majority are neglected.
I am a game programmer and I once wanted to work for Jagex. After seeing how Jagex treats its players, there's no way I want to be a part of a company that treats its customers and players like trash.

I'm with you S4ppho. I am so shocked by this attitude that I am going to seriously reconsider whether I continue to play. Over the last few years Jagex has nurtured skilling and peaceful clans, yet with one swift blow they throw several of those clans to the wolves immoral is the word of choice here.

I too am shocked and outraged at the attitude displayed by Jagex in this thread. Jagex was supposed to have decided to be more community orientated and yet they now show a massive amount of disrespect to those genuine communities of players that give up their time (which they also pay membership fees for) to help people. The D&D community has managed to make itself into some of the most helpful groups of people in RS despite Jagex giving very little support to them.
The comment was probably some bad attempt at humour but was completely unnecessary - had it simply read "So this update is going to bring joy to a wide variety of players" then that would have been sufficient and maybe true. To go out of the way to insult some of your most loyal customers is absolutely disgusting.
I, for one, have always supported Jagex even when they have made tough decisions that a lot of people have disagreed with. Not any more though, I have completely lost respect in Jagex and it's ability to support players.
Jagex seems to be under the impression that all of those pro-wildy posts across the forums (which despite often being flaming in nature somehow avoid the attention of mods) actually mean something. Even now those that are looking forward to the wilderness and all it entails are starting to complain about chaotic weapons, curses, summoning, etc. even before it is released!
Past experience shows that come 1st February the forums will be full of people that find the wildy is not as good as they remember/imagine and start with all of the "Jagex had a great opportunity here but they blew it!" threads.
Don't get me wrong, I am pleased that *real* (by which I mean honour) Pkers have got back the part of of the game that they enjoyed but it should not be at other people's expense, there is no reason why penguins *must* be in the wildy. Of course, this thread seems to reveal the true reason why the decision was made - Jagex want to give easy targets for cowards to feel tough.

I have to agree with the above posters(In case you wonder, no this isn't one of the *everbody go there an complain* actions. The several people posting here are not part of an organized protest on this thread, we rather all went here because we wanted to express our opionion for ourselves)
So you acknowledge that there will be PKers slaying helpless penguin hunters, making bad jokes about it which is simply downright disrespectful to the huge, friendly community that has evolved from penguins, while at the same time IGNORING that there would be simple FIXES available which would hurt NOBODY except those griefers. Sorry, but that makes me mad! From all the penguin threads I've been on, only one has got a JMod response, and that has been a short one with a next to invalid argument.
Honestly, if you really want to keep penguins in the wild I can live with it. But the way penguin hunters are dealt with enrages me. Should just one JMod come to one thread about the moving of penguins, and explain in detail why they are leaving the penguins there, and also acknowledge our arguments, that would be enough for me.(though moving them would still be preferable)
But this, this is just a slap in the face of our community. This is just sad.
Angered Jonanananas out.
edit: oh and we can give all our members free gifts! Now that's exactly what we were was waiting for right? And also, relocating penguins totally prevents free trade from happening right? /sarcasm off

^sorry if I went a bit over the top at some points but I'm honestly mad at the way we are treated.

Mod Jon H, on behalf of Mod Kathy and Mod Timbo:
"So this update is going to bring joy to a wide variety of players, not just PKers slaying helpless penguin hunters."
Up till now there was a tiny bit of doubt in my mind that maybe Jagex were just guilty of extreme ignorance of the huge problems that this would cause to one of the largest cooperative communities in the game.
Now we have direct evidence that some JMods are fully aware that this lack of consideration for that community will be inherently damaging, and that they don't care one jot.
This is arrogance of the highest degree for a company that claims it wants to foster greater ties with its customers as a community. The level of disrespect and two-facedness here from some of your representitives is almost on a par with the mods in "The Noob" webcomic.
I see now that this is a calculated effort to bring the easy-prey griefing pkers back into the game who rage-quit a few years back, because money speaks more to you than respect.
I have already read of one person who has cancelled their membership, not over the penguin fiasco but over your shameful comments about the irrelevance of the community you previously claimed to value. If all that speaks to you is money, I hope that it is the first of many.
The Empty Lord is a figment of the imagination of gullible people who started worshipping the purple Elder Bathrobe. The name and symbol comes from the washing label: Za-ros means "Do not dry clean".

Hi Mod Jon H!
I have a question to ask you, hope its not a personal question:
Is Mod Karolina's full name Petra Karolina?
If not who is Petra K?
And is Mod French's full name Martin French?
If not who is Martin F?
These are questions for the Who the Zamorak and again I hope its not a personal question.
