I definitely think this will make hard clue scrolls a lot more difficult. Two of mine in a row were level 55 wilderness with bad gear.
If wilderness is reinstated, it leaves me to wonder if your efforts would be better rewarded in terms of treasure odds?
just to share a thought :)

The wilderness was not made for a lot of activities that it now nevertheless contains. Those of us with this concern are not arguing that the wilderness didn't originally have a different purpose (PKing); we are simply asking the question of whether or not once that purpose returns these new activities will still require going into the wilderness. As I stated earlier, I do not want to participate in PKing in any way whatsoever. I will be perfectly content to leave the wilderness to those who do, provided the game allows me to. Calling us idiots does not counter the points we are making or the questions we are asking. It would be much more helpful if we could have a reasonable discussion without resorting to that kind of thing.

This may be a good point. We don't actually know how this will play out or how the return of the wilderness will really look (or even how Jagex will choose to implement it) in detail. We can only speculate at this point. Maybe you're right and venturing into the wilderness will not be that much more difficult than it is now. I hope so. To hear some talk, however, this may not be the case.

First of all, it's highly unlikely that every single world will be filled with PKers. There might be a few on some random worlds, but that's it.
Second, Jagex already said that they would be looking into moving treasure trails, quests, games, etc from the wild on a case-by-case basis.
Kids these days, as I said, are either ignorant of how the old RuneScape worked or are willingly ignorant of it. (For those who remember the old days but are purposefully being dense: you are one of the ones being willingly ignorant.)
Please everyone: it's not the end of the world. Not all PKers are evil people; the free trade will not see a massive rise in scammers (especially with the GE around); and I promise that the sky will remain where it currently resides.

God forbid something challenging in Runescape ever happened. And besides, Jagex said they were going to rework Treasure trails.

Feel My Pure, I hope that you and xxbeastxlx are correct about not every world being filled with PKers. You may very well be, and if that proves to be the case, then I will not be sitting around complaining, because the wilderness will probably not be that much more of a risk to me than it is now.
You are also quite correct about Jagex's statement that some things will be moved, and others will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The "case-by-case" bit is what leaves some concern in my mind, but it may all work out quite well, as you say. Either way, I have no plans to quit. I'd rather adapt. I just wish so many who love the idea of old-style PKing--whether they were around in the "old days" or not--were not so flippant about the concerns of those who are not as interested in it. Some people on both sides of this seem to believe that their preferred facet of the game is the only one anyone could possibly enjoy, which is unfortunate.
I agree that a lot of players who were not around prior to the removal of the wilderness and free trade are fearful, but I understand why. I was around prior to that, but I was very low-leveled at the time. I was aware of the wilderness and what went on there, and thus never entered it. I freely admit that I have no first-hand experience of the old wilderness. I do not know all of the ins-and-outs of how this will affect the game if it happens (actually no one does, as the implementation cannot possibly be identical in every way to the past). With all of the unknowns, my concerns seem inevitable. I assume that's true with a lot of other people, as well--especially those who were not around at all prior to 2007.
