The people against it are the ones that started after the big update. The people for it are the people that have been playing since before the big update. That says a lot.
I'm looking into coming back (quit when the update came out), but should it not go back to how it was i probably won't bother.
Restricted freedom in an MMORPG is massive flaw, almost game breaking.

Cheaters, botters, and scammers? It's as the CEO said, so long as there is a motive and incentive to do such things, there will always be a way and method. So Punishing us innocent players for their less than upright choices isn't fair; because i'd put money on the fact that there are more honest players than not. Most of us don't even know how to do these things and dont want to risk it anyway. So personally, I say return these things. They're an integral part of the game also. Bartering and trading at your own want and price is as real in the game as it is in reality. Free trade should be allowd any where, any time, any world. Grand Exchange should still have it's set limits based on the actual price, and have a max and min price, much like our own economies which fluctuates according to popularity of items, who's buying what or vice versa. The Wild however should still only be allowed on certain worlds with the proper warnings when you attempt to enter the world. That way less effort has to be put in by the designers on relocating virtually everything on the upper part of RS, and it's fair for all.

I have been playing Runescape for well, now 7 years. I've experienced alot of the changes and updates, whether I was happy or angry about them. Removing free trade, was the #1 change, that I was NOT happy about, quite angry actually. Lost alot of players that way, me being one of them.
Free trade was amazing, yes, alot of people got scammed, but really, that's somewhat their fault. I myself have been scammed numbers of times. Trust no one silly gooslings, and you won't have to worry about being scammed. And for the wild, it's your fault if you die from being unprepared. There's a ditch there for a reason, you even have to click if you understand it's dangerous. And if you understand it's dangerous, don't go (:<.
When I figured out that (when free trade was taken away like a punishment) you needed to do quests to be able to trade more, that's when I left. I am NOT a quester,and to be honest I hate quests. Jagex changed that on the first of January. The start of the year with less players.
When the wild went away, that changed alot of things for me too. I had lot's of fun in the wild, was really the only fun for me in the game, also how I got majority of my money. But then that was gone, and money was also harder to make. With that in mind, and prices going up, I was set on Runescape has been ruined.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE, for free trade and the wilderness to come back. In my opinion, I think the game would be better than it is. Get alot of players back too.
But perhaps leave a few worlds that don't have the wilderness, for the people who like to do quests and clues, so they don't die.
And there will always be botters and scamming, no matter what, so you might as well not whine about it and get your knickers in a twist about all the botters and scammers that will come.
Let Runescape live once again,bring back free trade and wild!

Even though I was never very good at PKing I would still like the opportunity to do it if I want to. And for all those idiots out there who say they can't do treasure trails and green dragons, I haven't done a treasure trail since Jagex took away the Wilderness. It was possible then, its possible now, and it will always be possible.
And when Jagex took away free trade, the game basically died. :( Most of my friends quit, including me. In fact, the only reason I started to play again is because I saw that Jagex might make this a fun game again.

I used to be a huge merchant back in the days... I would spend hours in falador garder trying to sell that robin hood hat for 250k more than I bought it for... and I LOVED IT!!! I quit runescape for 3 years but came back this month when I heard about this but if it doesnt come back Im quitting for good. Runescape is still fun, no doubt about it; but they took out the thrill and fun of the game. I truly hope you will all remember how fun runescape used to be and how mediocre it has become.
O and to all of you talking about RWT and BOTS i just came back to playing since the 2007 update and I see more than I did than!!!!
