I will like to make a hopefully valid point that there are many players, like a friend of mine, who only really come back and play around holiday times to participate in the events. This being said, the first vote took place at the beginning of the Christmas event when all of those players were probably playing. This second vote is not accompanied by a holiday event that brings back seasonal players. That is probably why there is a smaller voting power than there was in the first voting session. I myself would very much like to see the return of the free trade and wilderness, so long as there is a way for both players to see if the trade they are about to commit to is a fair one. Thank you. wow, i've played since 2006, and the people back then were pro's. Now, as every old player knows that atleast 50% of new people call each other "sad nerd" or "gf son", and most of them can't even have a son. I Don't understand this, i wish the community was much better. Because back by 2006, people asked for fights not just rushing them and going "gf nerd" or some crap like that, i mean i've seen people going "i love you", mostly in lumbridge, with level 126 players with full bandos, and "girl" characters with full blue 'ele. I want old rs back :(

to be honest. i agree with everyone that has posted. I LOVE THE IDEA OF FREE TRADE AND WILDY. it was so amazing standing in varrok west shouting "b sale!" it may have taken a long time to sell stuff but it was what made the game for me. back then I was a f2p and I never really used the wildy as I was a beginning player without much interest, but as I started playing more I started to get addicted to the game and then... the 2007 update.. I quit. I tried to start playing again numerous times after that but the "spark" of runescape was gone and I just got bored fast.. eventually I started playing again and with new friends I once again play regularly.
I appreciate the problems it will bring back, with no need to mention what they are with the streams and streams of flamers who probably haven't even experienced the wonders of free trade and old wildy.. the problems will return but who actually cares.. the good old times were amazing.. and the 2007 update is what led to the heaps and heaps of people turning to private servers and quitting. so please. please.
JUST BRING IT BACK. (p.s i would love to know a release date not just a random update..) ;)

I have played RuneScape for over 6 years. Back in the good days, RuneScape had everything a MMORPG wished they had. Alot of players, a good system, great market.
However, in the past 2-3 years, some of this has been taken away. First, if you take one thing off of your system, you have to recreate EVERYTHING about the game, what made it RuneScape. Example.. Take away free-trade, you have to add another way to trade, the Grand Exchange. And what happens, then? You must add a different system for PKing.
The result of all of these new things may or may have not made the game a more "player-friendly place", but I for one am sick of grinding at slayer tower just to make some money. I'd much rather be killing people in wilderness than doing this.
Another thing you may want to consider while talying up all of the votes...
The players who play today may not have had the chance others may have had back when the Wilderness and Free Trade was in the game.. losing a complete aspect on how fun this game can actually be.
I believe that JaGex is ready for this update, more now than ever. You are in your prime, but this update could very well change the interaction of player-to-player in RuneScape. Right now, the most interaction you have is talking on your friends list... buying/selling at the grand exchange... meeting some people doing the same skill you are training...
Yet, there could be this and so much more with Free Trade and old wilderness. Players would trade each other instead of clicking that grand exchange button every time they wanted something. PKing now is an almost robotic task, where you have to pick from waves of players to get another player your level. This will also be changed, and the wilderness will become much more human.
Now, what will I vote for?
I vote YES, FREE TRADE AND OLD WILDERNESS SHOULD BE RE-INTRODUCED INTO RUNESCAPE

oh yes oh yes real loot im not even a pk but i can tell you if you mannage to get a kill in pvp world rewards are stupid as it gets 15 tunna and like some leather armor when i kill a guy thats lvl 92 the same lvl as me and i almost die doing it i get better drops from hill giant and holy yes to free trade ive wanted to randomly give my best frined random stuff for a long while lol also it help out when you can lend money to and from real world friends lol i love this idea so much i want back old rune scape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
