Wow, I never thought I'd see the day. To be honest, I've gotten so used to all the new systems that I hadn't even given a thought to bringing back the old ways.
I would be all for bringing back free trade. I couldn't care less about the wilderness, but for those who enjoy that sort of thing, more power to them - bring that back too.
My only concern is, will you be taking out the "substitutes" that we had to replace free trade? For example, the lend and assist systems? Those would still be useful even if free trade was brought back, so I'd hope they'd stay.
Even if they didn't, to be honest, I'd like to cast my vote for bringing the old free trade and wilderness back.

I love that comment about the Runescape ecomony is stable. Maybe for people who have 140M laying around. It seems every month the price for rare or somewhat rare item increases by 10%. It's just like today's America. If you don't understand the economy (G.E. for Runescape), then you're going to have to spend most of your time just making money to substain a reasonable character.
What if someone wants to start a new account, should they have to do EVERYTHING over again? What if someone wants to give their friend a gift, it just so happens this gift is worth 2.5M? I agree that there were and can potentially be problems with the no-limit trade. It steal beats having to work on making money 80% of the time you're on just so you can buy a few items to "pk".
Here are some ideas;
Jagex should create a beta version with these updates to the trade system, and choose 8,000-10,000 trusted players to test it out. If it doesn't seem good, scrap it and try something else until it works.
A regulated no-limit trade system would work. Keep the flashing warning sign when your trading partner makes a change, alerting you of it. Introduce "gift giving", a way to give whatever item, whatever the amount, whatever the cost to any FRIEND on your Friend's List you want. This will satisfy that aspect of complaints directed to the limited trade system now. Develope better software to track and delete these bots.
As of right now, there is kind of a peace among the economy, but the new PvP system is just awful. That needs to be scrapped and replaced with an updated version of the "old wildy".
And about those lawsuits where children were stealing their parents credit cards. That's not Jagex's fault, that's just really, really bad parenting.

To be honest I think this is too good to be true. First off why would they need a million votes??? Second they put in Guniuess world record in the copyright and what for they clearly see that people will gain the 1m+ votes... They just did this so that I would tell my friend that quit because wilderness was gone so that I would tell him then he would go back to playing runescape thats their plan... Just a scam to get more kids addicted I don't play this *** scamming game.**** you stupid jagex go shove that 6 dollars up your ass and feed it to you employees

I'm not sure if this has been brought up or not, but in the old runescape there were no gravestones or anything to protect your items as they do now. When you died you had about 30 seconds of time to get your items back. If you didn't they would appear on the ground for another 30 seconds or so.
If the wilderness is brought back the gravestones will block any pkers from receiving the items unless the person is skulled. Will this remove the gravestones from the game? If so then I will not be training anymore the risk of losing my items like the old pk system does not sound like a good idea.
Im against having old wildy/trade back
Old Wildy = Newer lower level players getting tricked into being killed ect...
New Wildy = Effective system to keep new players aware of the dangers of going into the wilderness
Old Trade = An easy way to transfer items between hacked/stolen accounts and higher possiblity of being hacked, yes you still have your bank pin, but it is definately not as safe
New Trade = An effective way to protect against Hackers, also helps block some of the newer players from asking for "Free St00f"
Also I do not think the update is going to happen even if they have 25m+ votes, I think this is just another way to set a world record for most votes on a gaming website or something like that.
What makes me think this is that you don't even need a Pass Word to register someone's name. I, someone against the vote, has been registered by one of my friends. This could probably be a violation of my rights as a player of runescape. There isn't even a "No" button
I will be sad to see these return.

i personally hated the old wildy. Becuase of pkers killing me when im off to green drags. but the free trade should a trade option like the duel arena challenge so you can choose which type of trade you would like. Or free trade should only apply to friends.

Honestly are some of you people on this game stupid irl? Thats a harsh statement but i'm getting ticked off just reading at the selfish comments you are making. First off let me start. You guys say " ooh no old wild no old trade." You ignorant, selfish idiots, RUNESCAPE WAS LIKE THIS FOR 7 YEARS, AND IN THOSE 7 YEARS THEY HAD THE MOST AMOUNT OF PLAYERS IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME. Quote" No old wild! it will bring back people who will trick low levels into the wild."
This game has an age requirement, which is 13+. If you are too DUMB enough to fall for a lurer or a scammer, that is your own personal problems because once you get out into the real world it is even worse. So wake up and stop behaving like damn babies, honestly Jagex you need to make this update, I mean how can you deny 1.5m people. And secondly, took a chance to highscore every person who boycotts against this update. The people have stats which a lvl 60 would obtain, while the people in favor are a lot higher. I played in 07. I have pk vids in 07. I was in 7th grade, and although this isn't quite a good thing, I would remember being in the last period of school, being so impatient to come home and play. Now, this game has no impact on me. When i log in, I literally have nothing to do, I stand in the ge for about 10 minutes looking at my bank and then log.
Even your legendary players, (E.G Skychi, I mahatma I, I baranged I, Zezima, Hiei The Pk,) All very famous runescape players from 07 and before, they ALL QUIT. You Jagex know exactly why they quit. And some immature ignorant, delusionists are going to say, " omfg scammers, rwters, botters, lurers." Incase you guys are too dumb enough to notice. I know about 30 people on my friends list who are currently botting. Botting will never change with or without the old wild so don't even include that factor. For scamming if your too dumb enough to look at your trade screen then maybe you deserved to be scammed, learn from your mistakes.
