I haven't yet addressed a lot of other supporters' charges/issues yet, so for the record: I started playing in March of 06, so yes I did quite a few clues worrying about PKers.
My previous posts in thread give my reasons for being against this idea, and yes, I agree, it seems they had decided to do this before releasing their "poll," the dishonesty of which bothers me more than the old wildy issue itself.
The unlimited trade idea is the worst of the whole deal, as it undeniably creates huge incentive to bot, leading to myriad problems of economics, access to resources both real and ingame, and sheer annoyance to name a few. To say "bots have always been here; you can never stop them" as an argument in favor is exactly comparable to saying there will always be crime IRL, so remove all penalties for breaking laws.
If there HAS been some REVOLUTIONARY new breakthrough in bot detection, let them roll it out first. Then when we can't easily find an unbroken stream of bots in game in 2 minutes we can talk about doing things that massively encourage botting.
Their claims that they can control bots are pure PR until proven otherwise, especially in view of current conditions and the fact that bots are a source of income for Jagex.
