im still curious as to how they will police merchant clans. you know that some will buy all of one item in the ge and then go to a world and sell it for 10 times that much. people will be forced to wait till more come in or buy from the klan.

@neo, so the same as what happens now? the g.e may turn out to be dead weight whenfree trade comes, places like fally park and varrock west bank will become crowded again, this is good, it makes players socialise, but it wont be possible for the clan to buy ALL the items.

i dont think it'll be dead weight. too many people don't like or don't want to deal with klans to do their trading. as for socialising, the wildy coming back is doing a good job of splitting up the community again. just an opinion, but i think we're going back to skillers vrs. pkers again. the only socializing will PROBABLY be someone selling something and another person typing in captal letters, SCAMMER!

also klans can buy all of ONE item in the g.e. and then turn around and sell them for more. thats always happening now. hopefully they put a stop to this type of trading, somehow.

theres always going to be split communities in games where theres pvp & skilling involved. its how it is and always will be, its no different now. just that theyve split the pvp and put it onto different worlds.and then i guess those who are too lazy to interact with other players to trade deserve the inflated prices of the g.e

always have had bad instances with klans. end up paying more for something than what was in the ge,only because it wasnt available in the g.e. it was either that or wait for the frenzy to die down in a couple of days to find it again on the g.e.

ok everyone to be honest as for the bot issue
bots are getting more adv even now their are some out there that could take weeks to detect or notice and here the thing there no way to point fingers and claim here is a bot there if chat is off just because there is no talking doesn't mean they are a bot or their chats could be on friends i know for the first little but i had to keep my chat on private or friends because of issues with rules.
THE fact is bots will always be around it will forever be hard to to be rid of them and getting rid of the all is dang near impossible.
and stated before sadly bots are a important part of the economy. most of the supply people are too lazy to mine or chop them self come from somewhere, honestly there are very few people who will sit there chopping for weeks they take breaks for quests and real food and stuff plus once they hit lvl 99 they need to move on th another skill.
as for merchants some are bad and some are good there are sme that may have mined 200 coal and someone is selling 800 *hey will buy it up and sell 1k of coal for a bit more than what they paided and what 200 is worth for time and for rounding it up for you.
with the GE there are many more scams and most ofthe merchanting tricks that one of my friend taught me work on it fine why because all it is buying 1 rare item for the current or lowest price and reselling at normal or highest price i don't do it because i am not good at nor did i want to waste my time i rather have my sword in a troll or my hands on some raw fish or my feet moving for a quest

agent B, is it a crime to buy a chocolate bar for 45p and sell it for £1. no...
if you and your choorts buy up all the bars for 45p and sell them at 1 pound (i think thats what that is) and they are only worth 45p, then yes it is a crime (at least in the us). its called a monopoly. its called price fixing. it is illegal in many parts of the world.
_____________________________________________________________
this made me laugh like crazy and it shows how stupid you are how how little you know of what your talking about
one merchants has never been able to buy up all supplies when it is done its usually done by more than one usually not working together some time they do.
NO this is not a crime why because its done all the time in the USA market and you really would have to be to stupid not to realize its basically the same thing. (no its not a monopoly unless their is truly no else selling during free trade somewhere someone was always selling something.
what the zer0 basically described is a common store a store will pay for an item at the price its "worth" from the person who grew it or supplies it (in RS case lets say a miner minning coal will sell it to someone) then the store will turn around and resell the same item to other people at increased price for a profit ( this is neither illegal or uncommon)
this happens everyday all the time.
the facts are merchants in way (the good ones) are no more than a store trying to profit and sell an item for someone else (both the labor is payed and the seller is payed for their work)

@ warr
sadly your wrong people will join in to merchant clans go to world 2 or world 1 u will see them advistised there.
at that clan they will have an item they want everyone to buy. buying mass buying for a few days the price will go up then they wil go and sell what they brought at the higher price they made which is a very annoy scam because some people have issues getting what they need as the prices is being forced up and then when they finally can get it its at an higher more unfair price which can't be under offered becaused of the limit
