I would like to see both the wildy and free trade reintroduced. However, free trade seems to have more problems than the old wildy.
Anyhow, my vote is Yes on both! But let me offer my vision of how we can introduce both elements while relatively keeping the restrictions made during the 2k7 era.
My primary suggestion:
- All servers will have PvP wilderness...because revenants are just a joke.
- The deeper you go into the wildy, the higher the award.
- The deeper you go into the wildy, the higher the range of free trade (as the wildy cannot follow the laws set forth my human civilization)
So this means that there will still be a trade limit, but the deepest wilderness regions offer the most liberal trade limits. Now players *COULD* engage in illegal trading there. *BUT* the deepest parts of the wilderness should be the most dangerous as well. So how do we make the deep wildy dangerous to compensate for the liberal trade limit?
- Implement "heat sensors" for pkers to know there are "rich" prey there. Maps and/or bounty hunter arrows.
- Restrict the ability to teleport out of the deepest parts of the wilderness further. That means adjustments to the mage bank and Ardy teleport lever.
- In addition to Pkers, introduce better forms of revenants and increase the power of the chaos elemental. Personally, I've always felt the barrow wights would have been better "revenants" than what is currently patrolling the Wilderness.
- NPC Enforcer units would be good too. Each time you conduct a deep wildy trade, you run the risk that a band of elite knights will **me out and fight you. The law will not give up in taming the wildy.
So there you have it! My solution to having Old Wildy, New Wildy, Free trade, and trade limit... All in one package! The governing principle is risk vs reward. If you want to trade that dharok's plate to your friend, then prepare to face the dangers of bloodthirsty pkers, the ubered up chaos elemental, vengeful new revenants, and enforcer units.
