I think bringing back free trade and the wilderness is a great idea. I don't understand all of the people saying things such as "I hate free trade because I got scammed too much" or "The wilderness is stupid because I went there and got killed". The thing is, in most cases, those players were too incompetent or just too lazy to check on what they were trading to ensure that they weren't being scammed or that they were in an unsafe place, such as the wilderness. I believe that those players ruin the game for everyone else. Enough of them started to complain about it, so JaGeX acted. A few good things came of the update removing free trade and the wilderness, though. The Grand Exchange, second trade screen, and the fact that players now have to confirm their trades are a few positive things that were programmed into RuneScape with the update. But again, the whole update taking free trade and the wilderness stemmed from lazy and/or incompetent players being their lazy/incompetent selves. I'm sick of everything being overly-regulated by the people in charge. Let the players be in charge of their own affairs, and if they are scammed/killed in the wilderness, so be it. They'll get over their mistake. JaGeX doesn't have to be these players' mothers. And while I don't agree with people scamming other players, I don't think the scammers are completely to blame. The players too incompetent/lazy to protect themselves and realize what they're trading or where they are are the ones at fault. If they REALLY cared, they would take better care of their accounts, right? Don't get me wrong, the person getting scammed is not at fault in EVERY instance... But honestly, if those players would take the time to make sure that everything is in order, the majority of the problems with free trade and the wilderness would disappear. But, in the long run, RuneScape's just a silly game we play to pass the time. Nobody should get too much into it.
