i'm all for this. The day that i logged on and saw "bring back free trade and the wilderness" my heart fluttered with excitment.
i'm not going to give all my reasons for 100% on this beacause, the simple fact ill be repeating what alot of others have already said.
for the people whinging about getting scammed, don't be so hasty in a trade.
i do a fair bit of gwd, sometimes with lower levels, and sometimes, as most people do, they lag and die, and 9 times out of 10 miss a drop.
i feel terrible, and i want to make it up to them, but at 100k a trade, thats not fair, so when they die, they can still get some coin out of a drop :) .
to be perfectly honest, i've played for a number of years, seen people come and go. people think this will ruin runescape? how so? don't you think merching clans are ruining rs? free trade will have a deffinate impact on those rediculous clans, thus making PVM more exciting then ever before.
cannot wait :)

I like the idea of bringing back free trade because there has been so many times ive wanted to help my friend with a quest, or even if he need to buy armor and I trust he will repay me. But with people trying to scam players so they dont have to work for it themselves is what ruined the old runescape.
I remember once somebody told me to give my weapon to them and they would change it to something better. It wasn't a very good trick but it proves people are trying and there are probably smarter people with smarter tricks.
My personal opinion is to change the wildereness back but not the trade restrictions. maybe just raise them much higer. Raise it high enough to be able to lend a reasonable amount of money to a friend, but not so hig as where someone could scam an amount that took alot of hard work to earn.
The warning explanation marks when an item is removed, and the item value at the bottom of the trade box should both be kept to help new players know if they are being scamed.
But if had to decide wheather to keep it the way it is now or switch it back to free trade and the old wilerness I would definitely decide on the free trade and old wlderness. In the petition I voted for free trade. that is my personal opinion and I hope I am not causing an argument or anything, it's simply my opinion.

I agree with YodaMonkey.. :D We should all just get lives. If you bring free trade back then my balls will drop... and if we Don't! then everyone will restate this quote --> "why did jegax take it off in the first place. they knew it would make kids light their chests on fire and make them want to run around their neighborhood ***** with a home-made skillcape, saying - Someone help, this lvl 105 revenant flip *** ork is using damn magic AND PWNING ME! - is this the reason they took it off? becauz wilderness was to awesome... and all dem nubs saying "i disagree to wilderness and free trade coming back becuz of scammers." u should be carefull what u trade.. and when u accept someones trade, it gives u the option after if U R SUREE U WANT TO ACCEPT. AND IF UR GOING TO BE A NOOB AND JUST CLICK IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE BECUZ U CANT WAIT TO MESS AROUND WITH THE ITEMS U GET. THEN U SHOULD GET A LIFE and STOP ACTING ******** AND PLAY THE GAME RIGHT. BECUZ SOMETIMES U GET SCAMMED WHEN U GET THE UPPER ADVANTAGE OF THE TRADE, JUST TO GET U TO TRADE WITH THEM. SO DONT BLAME RUNESCAPE ON UR RIDUCULOUS MISTAKES. BLAME IT ON THE ONE THAT WASNT PAYING MUCH ATTENTION. THANK YOU..*****; :)

I think bringing back free trade and the wilderness is a great idea. I don't understand all of the people saying things such as "I hate free trade because I got scammed too much" or "The wilderness is stupid because I went there and got killed". The thing is, in most cases, those players were too incompetent or just too lazy to check on what they were trading to ensure that they weren't being scammed or that they were in an unsafe place, such as the wilderness. I believe that those players ruin the game for everyone else. Enough of them started to complain about it, so JaGeX acted. A few good things came of the update removing free trade and the wilderness, though. The Grand Exchange, second trade screen, and the fact that players now have to confirm their trades are a few positive things that were programmed into RuneScape with the update. But again, the whole update taking free trade and the wilderness stemmed from lazy and/or incompetent players being their lazy/incompetent selves. I'm sick of everything being overly-regulated by the people in charge. Let the players be in charge of their own affairs, and if they are scammed/killed in the wilderness, so be it. They'll get over their mistake. JaGeX doesn't have to be these players' mothers. And while I don't agree with people scamming other players, I don't think the scammers are completely to blame. The players too incompetent/lazy to protect themselves and realize what they're trading or where they are are the ones at fault. If they REALLY cared, they would take better care of their accounts, right? Don't get me wrong, the person getting scammed is not at fault in EVERY instance... But honestly, if those players would take the time to make sure that everything is in order, the majority of the problems with free trade and the wilderness would disappear. But, in the long run, RuneScape's just a silly game we play to pass the time. Nobody should get too much into it.

There is no question that this is going to change runescape in a truly significant way. There are going to be a lot of problems emerging (as listed by others), but no matter what happens with the game, there will always be some level of problems.
In general, I like mostly every update Jagex does. It adds excitement and change. There is never going to be an update that makes runescape perfect, however, jagex is never going to stop making progress. For me, it's not about the actual content that gets added or updated, but rather how to have fun with it, and get better.
I'll be voting for it 100%. I've gotten hacked/lured/scammed multiple times, but to be honest, I didn't know it could happen until it did. So perhaps put something in the tutorial or spread awareness that there are people doing these things to get the unfair advantage.
