As someone who has played runescape fairly consistently for the past five years or so i am quite proud to see that the reality of the situation has finally had such an effect that this referendum became a necessity. the reality being that runescape has been slowly dying ever since the day the wilderness was destroyed. and dont be confused, runescape is a wonderfully fun game, but it never would return to its former glory if the wilderness didnt return. Runescape, as fun as it is now, simply ages, quite quickly in fact, it becomes repitition and thats why so many people (myself included) have 3, 4, or 5 different accounts we play. simply because your "main" gets boring. maybe you reached the point where it takes hours of repetitive training to level up. and mini games are great, but you cant get enough experience to make it worthwhile. the obvious answer was once simply, "lets go pk some noobs" make some money, bond with some friends, and recieve the most fun batch of xp you could ever get. running throught the wildy for 5 minutes and managing to snake yourself full rune was the greatest feeling in the world. a feeling that bounty worlds could never dream to match. The simple reality is; if the wilderness was such a bad thing, jagex never would have put so much time and sweat into emmulating it the best they could. Why recreate something that you yourself thought was no longer needed, or wanted? Because an overly hasty and obvious mistake was made, and it was the best they could do to fix it.
I am quite proud that runescape will finally be returning to what it once was, the REAL best online game there is. I cant even begin to dictate how many times i have heard that runescape lost its edge because of the loss of the wilderness and free trade, the things that made runescape what it once was. The day these things return is the day i begin to play this game consistently again. and i do believe i speak for roughly 90% of this games players. as the poll clearly shows.
