Johney525,
For the record, I voted in favor of bringing back free trade and the wildy. Personally, I have no interest in pking. But I support bringing back the old wildy because I know tons of players loved it. I'm mostly interested in bringing back free trade.
And relax. You don't have to convince anyone. The vote is going 90% in favor of bringing back free trade and the wildy--and with almost 1M votes in, that's not going to change.
Short version: Jagex is gonna bring back the old wildy, so you don't have to worry about it.
So let's be honest about pkers.
It was extremely common for pkers to troll the wildy looking for skillers, cluers, questers, and defenseless players and killing them for the fun of it and for the possibility of a profit from the drops. They also hung out at common spots where these activities required players to go. Rune rocks is another example. And the mage bank. Etc.
RC pkers would magically appear in any world that had a significant number of abyss rcers. Why? Because the pkers would hang out at the ZM, and if there weren't rcers in the world they happened to be in, they'd hop until they found a world with rcers.
In particular, they hung out on any world where a company or an individual high-level rcer was hiring runners.
I spent hundreds of hours hiring runners at the nat altar, both solo and in companies, so I know how this worked. There would be pker reports, and runners that we crafters would give preference to because they were poisoned and almost dead from having been attacked by a pker. And we'd hear from the ones who didn't make it.
Am I complaining?
No.
Players knew the wildy was dangerous, and you just had to take your risk if you *anted to do anything in the wildy.
I'm simply stating facts.
In the old wildy, pkers commonly killed skillers and other players that they saw as easy targets.
And they'll do it again when (not if) Jagex brings back the old wildy.
