Are you really saying that you had a problem with bots back then?
I never noticed them, I just cut my trees, mined my rocks and went about my business laughing with friends.
The whole issue regarding bots is being blown out of proportion.
On a side note, I took you up on that offer and did add you.

Hi,
I think Jagex loose a lots of members by removing the wild and the free trade. They probably loose more members than Cheaters, so they loose a lots of $$$.
I never been a pkers so to me it doesn't matter, but it's about time that Jagex wake's up regarding the bank and wildness! 4 years later, it's not to late, but I don't think they will get back all the ones that left already...
We learn with mistakes... Uh Jagex?
- I agree to bring both back in RS!

Go friends!
They didn't really bother me, they were just everywhere. Unfortunately their effects are still being felt today, but only moderately. I only attacked his post because he said "no one botted" which is kinda BS at the time. They were everywhere, but they were fun to mess with and trap. Lol. Sometimes you can get em off their bot path and lure em places. haha. Good times.

I think this is great, ever since wildy and free trade was removed alot of my friends including me quit runescape. I personally think that the wilderness and free trade limit was the best runescape had. The chance to get something from a rich person by begging, getting scammed, pking, it was all part of runescape.

After as good hour and a half looking for a particular post, I finally found it!
"Number of Joystick Awards prior to the 2007 change: 0
Number of Joystick Awards in the 3 years since the change: 2
Coincidence? I think not. The game was overrun with bots, scams, lures, etc. The game reached a point of practically being unplayable by any true gamers. By restricting areas of content that were highly abused, Jagex were free to focus on developing richer content and they were recognized for it. Moving backwards is backwards thinking.
It's amazing how the very petition to reintroduce these highly abused areas of content was rife with false votes. People were voting for themselves, their friends, strangers on the hiscores, etc. How ironic a that petition regarding highly abused content should itself be abused.
Meanwhile the second poll which requires a login, hasn't managed to hit 500k in four days. That's not exactly an impressive number. And check out some of the names listed as recent voters. Of the 15 displayed on the page, I only found 4 that were ranked. Only FOUR. Out of 15. Seriously? Yeah, talk about flooding the vote with newly created accounts." -Rembroth.
She's good.

Honestly removing the wilderness and free-trade only worked for a short while. At this point in time? Botting, scaming, hacking, luring, and real-world-trading is just as rampant as ever. The only difference between now and then? The methods used. Why should players who cheat be allowed to trade freely as they do, while us real players still be stuck with their punishment?
It's time Jagex took our training wheels off.
