I would be very upset if it went through with no restrictions. With a few restrictions I would jump for joy and jump on my Range PKer and pwn some nub str pures who think their so cool.
Btw, Tank Range = epic PK class :) Don't tell nobodies.

Jagex took the high road 3 years ago when they decided to combat RWT.
Real world trading will definitely increase with the return of free trade as was mentioned by Mr Osborne on the opening page of his forum post. Its quite simple, With free trade I can sell the santa I'm wearing for real world cash. $20.00? $50.00?
Could I sell 1 million gps for $.50? 1 billion for $500.00? At that rate you can count on folks world over employing folks using legitimate accounts to make the gps to sell for real world cash, and probably alot less than $1.00 an hour if not a day. If there is a way of making real world cash for something than you can count on folks doing it.
Also free trade brings real world wealth to the game. Going by the random figures I just mentioned (but not unrealistic) someone that has and extra $500.00 can just whip out a credit card and purchase 1 billion gps in a matter of minutes. No need to spend the time earning and working for it. Remember those lvl 3's without the overall xp to have possibly earned the gps for a blue phat running around with them? I certainly do.
Right now "botting" mostly consists of 2 things:
1- Scripts folks use to have their accounts repeat certain tasks.
2- Leveling services that folks pay to lvl their accounts and gain gps.
Botting for the sole purpose of gathering items to be sold for gps, to be sold for real world cash has been greatly reduced by the elimination of free trade.
Again Runescape took the high road a couple years ago and decided to put a stop to their contribution to this. I'm sure they hoped others would follow but unfortunately cash talks. Jagex is now considering giving up on this and following other online games that put the mighty dollar above all else. Folks obviously don't really care about the effect this will have on RWT as long as they can have an easier time getting gps and items into their accounts.

As far as my opinion, I really hate that someone can just purchase in a couple minutes what took me 1000 hours of playing the game to earn.
That really cheapens the game. Having a blue phat, for example, really means nothing. You may have legitimately earned it, or maybe you just happened to have a rich friend that gave it to you, or maybe you just whipped out your credit card and purchased it.
I'm really disappointed in Jagex.
I've heard it all before, if you don't like slave labor then don't wear the shoes.
Still doesn't make it right.

I have always absolutely despised the wilderness, but mostly because I absolutely hate the "death penalty". (Dropping your stuff, which in some cases may take longer to get back than lost Exp, which is a common penalty in other games)
If I recall correctly, Green Dragons are only found in the wilderness.
Everyone seems concerned with their clue scrolls... Which yes, is an issue, but what about the Slayers who get Green Dragons? There's no task I dread more already than Green Dragons, and now I'll have to worry about some guy swooping in and attacking me when I'm not even there to PK, but rather, there to *lay?
I sure as heck hope that if the Wilderness comes back, that there will be Green Dragons found in areas other than the wilderness.
As for free trade...
IF this means the removal of the GE, I'm definitely 100% against it.
I don't ENTIRELY hate the idea of the Wilderness, provided everything in it that a non-PKer would need is removed and placed elsewhere, because well... people choose to risk their hard work.
But the GE is absolutely the most helpful thing ever, especially for someone like myself.
It allows me to quickly get the resources AND equipment I need, without making me talk to people. Although it is the internet, I still find it fairly hard to talk to people. I'm a shy person. Big whoop. Shoot, I won't even do an Emote treasure trail until the other players go away.
So the GE was an update I was absolutely thrilled with.
Although I'd love to be able to give my friends gifts for their birthdays, which the current limits prevent, I would never want the GE removed to allow it.
I'm not 100% sure about anything (That is, Whether or not the GE is planned to be removed, or if there's green dragons outside the wilderness) but from what I have read, it sounds like the GE will be taken away. I don't see why the GE and free trade can't be together, it would allow us to see "advised prices".

Also, is there any guarantee that the old bots won't spam votes?

i love the g.e as you can check the prices and see how fast or slow there moving and decide what skill to train that day based on current prices and if your smart you can find skills that make money back in the old day you had to stand around for hours or browse the forums for days to find some items at the rice price now you jsut go onto g.e try in minimum and wait over night knowing when your wake up your problay have it.
if free trade reopens how many people will use the g.e?
we al know people are greedy they wont sell things on the g.e if they think they can do it on the forums and make more
then if people dotn sell on the g.e how will the real prices be reflected?

I did always like trading cuts for uncuts as I was an honest person and trader but there were times when someone would make off with 50k worth of my gems. So I devoted myself to crafted and soon enough, I was trading cuts for uncuts. I didn't scam as scamming is for noobs.
Can cuts be worth more than uncuts now? A lot more fun. :)

Jagex lost interest in making new pvp going back to the good old days. When life was simple. No one boting. Allmost no one could get all 99. Well I wouldn't mind to go backwards. while you are doing free trade why not free item lending for all the items we got. Or even better make "coins to money"'"money to coins" and make Runescape currency worth something like some other games have done. 5 dollars for a AGS anyone. maybe even pickpocket a player. many games have "reset" after each season maybe something for runescape.
When old wildness is back then I don't think it will be like the old one. alot have changed. We have more items that is not worth anything in pvp. Have armour that soaks damage. More gear tha lose it value after it gained to new owner. More items that last only for a few hours.
The worst problem I think Jagex has right now is to make the worlds lagg less. maybe throw out those pvp worlds and just go with wildness so stop wasting money on half full worlds. Maybe throw out some of the bounty worlds to. Who would notice it when they get old wildness back. Jagex new pvp never worked. and this thread shows it.
