THIS TIP IS RECOMMENDED FOR PLAYERS 60+ GOOD MAGIC LEVEL RECOMMENDED
First of all, I would like to state that the Barrows brothers are all extreamly weak to magic, EXCEPT AHRIM. (melee or range ahrim instead.)
MY METHOD (CHEAP): Buy a polypore staff. It has powerful spells that are pretty cheap. When you are about to kill the melee brothers (Torag, Dharok, Gublthan, Verac) use any type of bind spell (entangle or barrage recommended) to keep him at bay.
NOTE: on dharoks, pray melee at all times, he can hit well beyond 400s at half hp!
NOTE :P ray ranged on karils and ahrims too, as their attack hit accurately.
EXPENSIVE METHOD: Barrage all the brothers. you can blitz if you do not have the magic level for barrage. Melee ahrims

During your fights you will find a chest that says that there is a TUNNEL. Save that tomb for last, as when you have killed 5 brothers you will go into the tunnel and, the final brother might appear randomly ANYWHERE in the maze. when you get to the chest, if the final brother is not there, he will appear when you attempt to open it.
GOOD LUCK! :)

1: Dharok, then Verac, then whatever order you want. This is because Dharok can hit crazy high, especially if he's almost dead so you pretty much have to pray against him, and even though Verac can hit through prayer and armor, he won't do it as often if you're praying. Even when he hits through Protect From Melee, it reduces his max hit by about 80 points.
2: Use Ranged against Ahrim, along with Protect From Magic. If you want, you can use black d'hide, but it still lets him hit fairly often. Use Melee against Karil, because Melee armor has excellent Ranged defense so you don't need Protect From Ranged. Use Protect From Melee against Dharok, because of his set effect. The other brothers, you can tank with melee armor, but you will use food. The melee brothers are pathetically weak against magic- if you're willing to risk it, use a Staff of Light and Slayer Dart against them. Even in full melee armor, their Magic defense is low enough for consistent hits.

This may have already been suggested, but I start a round of Barrows using the special attack of my ancient mace on a guard to get some extra prayer. I can get almost an extra 150 prayer points or so to start out with if I am lucky.
When I first started out, I would also take my Falador shield for a prayer restore in the tunnels when I encountered the last brother.
Both of these really cut down on my consumption of prayer potions.

Suggested Quests (easier to get there):
Ghosts ahoy – access to the Ectophial
Desert Treasure – Canifis teleport, highly recommended if using your house’s Portal Room.
In Search of the Myreque – shortens the journey from Canifis to Barrows.
In Aid of the Myreque – back up plan if you forget your spade, opens the bank in Burgh de Rott
Horror from the Deep – prayer book(s).
Recipe for Disaster – Culinaromancer gloves (the higher the better).
Family Crest – if your Magic level is not very high, Chaos gauntlets from this quest help.
Mage Arena – God Cape, absolutely necessary if you use god spells.
Possible Routes ^_^ Route 1
Go through the gate south west of Canifis into the Mort Myre swamps. Head south, make sure you run as there is a chance your food will decay. If you have access to Fairy Rings, teleport to Fairy Ring D-L-S and you will arrive roughly halfway through this route at the transportation icon. Stay east and you will find a hole in the wall of vines; pass through it. Then take the boat , and you will arrive at Mort'ton. You CANNOT return to Canifis this way if you have not completed In Search of the Myreque. If you have not completed In Search of the Myreque and need to return to Canifis, take the winding path west of Mort'ton and by the Nature Spirit Grotto
Route 2
If you have done the In Search of the Myreque quest then go around the west side of the Hair of the Dog pub in Canifis and go down the trap door into the Myreque dungeon. Go through the strange wall and follow the tunnel south to some doors. (Turn on run, as your food will decay in the swamps.) Come out of there and you will be in the Mort Myre swamps. Run south. You will have to climb up a tree, cross a ladder and then climb back down a tree. Now make your way to the boat south of here, and ride it to Mort'ton. Cross the bridge leading east then follow the path to the Barrows.

Tip 1: If you have 43 prayer, bring 10 or more prayer pots and a little food(for verac he can hit through prayer) and just use anti-melee range and mage.
Tip 2: I Suggest bring a ring of wealth for better drop chances.

ALWAYS fight ahrim last as he drains your stats, if you fight him first you will find it harder to kill the other brothers because of stat drain, OR you could just bring a restore potion.
Also if you are going the mage the brother i highly recommend using the polypore staff as it is very cheap and can hit very high depending on your magic level.

Tip #1 - For players who wish to attempt Barrows, but are unable to buy expensive armour, here is a tip for you. Use a combination of d'hide ranged gear with a salamander - I use black d'hide with a black salamander - to deal a devastating blow to any Barrow's brother. The black salamander can deal damage up to constant 200's+, depending on your stats. Keep in mind that the salamander's magic attack is used best against the melee brothers (Dharok, Verac, Guthan, and Torag) while the ranged/melee attacks offered by the salamander are best used against the other two, Ahrim and Karil. Be sure to use protection prayers in every fight, as they are absolutely necessary for many of the brothers you will encounter.
Note: You can use an abyssal whip in substitution for the salamander's ranged/melee attacks, as this will save you both ammunition and, therefore, money. :)
Tip #2 - Bring a large (4-8) amount of prayer restore/prayer renewal potions to Barrows, as your Prayer is constantly drained while fighting. Also, be sure to absolutely bring a ring of wealth, as it significantly increases your chances of receiving armour pieces/rare rewards EVERY time you search the chest for loot. :D
With the Utmost Sincerity, Respect, and Integrity,

~Audx :D
