Hey guys,

Over the Christmas period, we've seen a spate of fake Twitter accounts surfacing pretending to be Jagex employees. As these are in the public domain, we have limited power over what we can do to restrict them, but this is an awareness post to please be careful who you follow!

Please ensure that you only follow those Jmods on the Official List , and if you see an account with...

- Outdated images (or images of other Jmods).
- claims to have a 'giveaway' & link (normally ending .com.de) in their description. This will be a phishing link.
- claims to be the 'new' OSRS/RS employee in a certain department

...then please let me know (@JagexJD) on Twitter and I'll send out a PSA for everyone.

If you're on Twitter, please help your fellow 'Scapers by raising awareness too!

We're also seeing a couple of fake accounts on Tumblr and Instagram as well, so same rules apply on those platforms too.

If you have clicked a link from one of these accounts & entered your details, don't panic. Please head here and follow the instructions therein.

Thanks for the heads up, I'd added a few twitter phishers over the holidays thanks to a few proactive twitter users.

Is there any chance someone could compile a list of "known phishers" that could be updated once in a while? The list of active twitter JMods is handy to have, but so would a list of accounts that players should block.

One reason why Twitter shouldn't be the only way to contact Jagex quickly about issues, due to being a Third-Party site.

When are your official Twitter Accounts going to show the Verified by Twitter Symbol? I know all the JMods wouldn't have it, but surely Jagex Support should have it?
