Surely there must be a few JMods that aren't on the
Official List
that have twitter accounts? I see some twitter accounts... they've been around for a few months... other JMods that I know are legit are following them... but they're not on the official list. Were the JMods following just being lazy like I was and clicking the "hey, you might know this person, want to follow them?" button too, and inadvertently following an illegitimate account? Or are they legitimate accounts?
And yes, I'm now going through my following list one by one and checking... because I was lazy. Not that I click links and enter my info, but I'd rather not follow someone I shouldn't.

Fairly sure jagextom was on the approved list on the wiki as I remember reading about it in a thread, and a fmod told users the links would be perfectly safe.
What measures have you taken to prevent such things happening?
JagexTom was an ex-Jmod account which by the looks of things has been deleted, and then the username has been freed up.
We normally secure Twitter handles of ex-Jmods for this particular reason, but it may be that he deleted his account before we had a chance to secure the name.
Our Jmod Twitter procedure is getting a revamp in 2015 to hopefully prevent things like this happening again in future**
If he deleted it before being secured why was it not removed from the list?
So currently you're just hoping somebody remembers or?

lol the @jagexsupports one doesn't even give out links, it's making fun @jagexsupport saying stuff like that you need Gold VIP to get help or you need to be a streamer to get help, looks like hardcore trolling

It's had been off of the official list as soon as he left the company - I was referring to the actual Twitter account itself.
Hi, I did notice quite a few @Jagex, @Runescape, @Mod type twitter accounts that were not on the official Jmods On Twitter list when I was doing some research for a series of posts that I was going to make (and have since made & posted). I didn't note down those twitter handles since I was only reviewing the twitter accounts that were listed on the previous official Jmods On Twitter list in December.
It is nice to see that the Official Jmods On Twitter List has been updated & that you are compiling a list of those twitter handles that are not officially associated with Jagex. Will you also be listing those twitter hands that start with @Mod too that don't belong to Jagex too since you are also showing this type of handle being used officially?
Bad timing on my part, I had just used the previous Official Jmod On Twitter List that I copied at the end of December as part of a series of posts that I had just posted. I did copy & paste it as it was, minus the twitter handles of course, so that was the only thing that is missing from the previous Official Jmod Twitter list that I had just used. I did reference the Jmods On Twitter list in the opening post to that series of post too.
Would you like for me to update that series of posts to mirror the new Jmods On Twitter List to reflect the changes that were made?
