First off, I can't believe you scrapped Valley of the Dead. That was going to be the one PvP activity I would have enjoyed. Just because Iron Man is self-sufficient play style like the mini-game would have been, doesn't mean any iron men are going to PvP. In fact, I'm pretty sure zero iron men will be killing each other.

Next, I was excited about Invention, but as long as the updates to existing skills are going to be big than that's okay if you don't make it.. I guess. Even though I saved all my divine energy to 99 specifically for it. Like the updates mentioned to Construction, Agility, Mining/Smithing.. I have read (on the VIP forums I think) that you're going to poll it sometime in the near future.

If you're rewriting the entire code of the game for HTML5, does that mean you can (or could have) increased the xp limit? Since Prestige didn't work out and more players reaching max xp, this would be an easy solution that would eventually come into effect once the only client being used is HTML5.

Excited about the Rune Labs though its totally possible that WE end up destroying our game. We'll see how it goes I suppose :)

Tuska looks awesome.

200th quest looks awesome. Quests are generally awesome but this one looks particularly awesome. I think I've said awesome too many times.

Card Game: We'll see.

Overall, I think this game took a huge turn around for the better in 2014 and I can't wait for what comes next :D

The only things that really shine to me are the RuneLabs concept, the new World Event, and the quests.

Everything else felt and seemed extremely messy and hasty. I understand this is content far open for debate since it's way ahead in the future; but seriously?

Take stuff like inventor. Nearly any skill has some sort of counterpart. Something in which you can make products from the gathering aspect of the first skill (divination).

And spare me with the whole energies are useful bit. I have over 175,000 energies in 5 types. I barely need any to make resource gathering locations. I don't need twelve-thousand signs of respite. Same goes for anything you can do with divination.

It's a silly idea to rethink it so late in the game. Translating it unto other skills is wonderful, but a better idea would be to make the skill anyway and attach other skill requirements onto the more crucial productions of the skill. Soul weaponry? Inventor requirement and Smithing/Fletching/(Rune)Crafting requirement.

Let the card game thing go. Immersion into the main game sounds neat but to be honest there's too damn much happening in Runescape as it is. The only mobile capabilities/games/anything you should be worrying about is expanding the Companion App within reason to make it a more practical outlet for people on the go. Viewing my bank and Grand Exchange interaction - whoopie.

Where's the barebones Ports functionality? Where's Treasure Hunter? You guys love your money so much, let people worry about that chest-and-key crap while they're out and about in public!

And to close; you guys are horrible at answering questions.

The whole colour picker question has been a large topic for months, well over a year even now with JMod conversations leading us to believe that all is well and something is soon to occur.

Someone asks that question and you outright shoot it down. Nope. No plans.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S EVEN GOING ON IN YOUR OWN GAME?

I agree with a lot that is written in this announcement.
Really looking forward to the new client. Is there any chance that this could result in RuneScape for pads? If so that would be great.
In my opinion Inventor should be set aside for the time being. Refining the game is more important, especially graphically.

We need graphical consistency in RS3. I do not play RuneScape for the graphics, but consistency is important. You don't want "conflicting" graphics to ruin immersion.
There are so many places that are graphically inferior to others, that the release of "RS 3" is somewhat superficial. RS2 had perfect graphical consistency at launch as far as I know.

Take your time to polish the game before you move on to new skills and the like. Improving the current skills is a needed inclusion. Reworking mining, smithing, construction, summoning (graphically at least), fletching and firemaking(?) should all come before a new skill.
I guess the polls will decide though...

Edit: @Saint Arson: If I understood the announcement correctly, they scrapped HTML5. I think it is a new client, but not HTML5.
"Our next new client builds on the re-architecting we did for the HT*L5 project to deliver what HTML5 could not..."
So it builds on previous work done for HTML5, but will do what HTML5 can not?
Might need some clarification on this.

Agreed, Inventor doesn't really need to be a skill on it's own. Portables can be made with any number of skills already in-game. And having things like upgradeable gear is a good idea, but it doesn't have to be a skill. Armor kits can be made with Smithing, etc.

Give us the skill reworks you mentioned, Construction POHs in the overworld, Summoning revamp, Smithing revamp, Agility revamp that was mentioned at the last Runefest, etc. All of these should be higher priority than a new Skill.

I also worry that as soon as you say Inventor isn't coming, there's going to a lot of bandwagoning over how much we want it that's going to skew the debate. Rookie mistake on your part.

Hearing that Invention might not even happen saddens me. I voted for Invention because I wanted a new useful skill, not some Elf City for only the highest level players. And hearing that it might not even happen really makes me upset. Divination was built with a companion skill in mind, so to have it not happen will make Divination feel unfinished. Please do work on Invention. Just because Prifdinas won (by a couple hundred votes) doesn't mean we don't want Invention.
