Personally I'd rather have inventor scrapped and its contents spread through out all the other skills. Improving metal amours for smithing, improving leather amours for crafting, improving robes for runecrafting or magic. It does not need to be it's own skill.

The left over time spent would be to revamp the other skills like construction, agility, summoning, thieving, firemaking, ect that are either useless, extremely unbalanced level milestones, or aren't enjoyable to train in the slightest.

As for the runescape legends, my big question is why? Why spend time making a card game when you could use the extra hands making the actual game better?

I hope you guys don't scrap the gear leveling idea, so far that's the only update I'm truly rooting for

So is the alternate universe ScapeRune?
I'm not sure how I feel about inventor skill. I think we need more information on it before deciding to put it off for a year+ or forever. I think I'm leaning towards skill revamps at the moment though.
Looking forward to getting to vote for some player designed content in-game.
I'm looking forward to the HTML5 update the most, but I just want improved game performance. My fps stay in the single digits most of the time on lowest detail.
The card game might be worth trying out. I wasn't a big fan of the card things that have been done in the past or the Armies of Gielinor game though.
Tuska world boss seems like fun. I'm super behind on boss content from the past year though. I've got no talent for bossing and poor game performance on my system doesn't help any.
Overall nothing too impressive or unexpected whether that's good or bad. Average content is better than controversial community shattering content? Also surprised no mention of upcoming elf updates. Still got rest of the city, that church prayer D&D, and the task set right? I imagine those last 2 won't be til next year.

I was looking forward to the Inventor skill. I guess I will have to look forward to making my weapons better never.. (Of course, if it were spread out amongst all skills as an improvement instead of a skill, that would also be okay. - Like in King Ruler's post.)

I definitely support the idea of Invention's content being spread into different skills to give them purpose, but that doesn't mean Invention has to be scrapped. Just make an Invention skill requirement to make all the cool, new inventions on top of a skill requirement in other skills. This way, invention can still do things on its own that don't really fit into any other skills, while still effectively "reworking" other skills that nobody really trains. Where would the machines that convert skilling supplies into stuff that you were always talking about fit in without Invention?

You can find a point in the middle of the road easily with Invention, which kind of upsets me that you have to poll this decision. So we either get no skill at all or a skill that isn't incorporated into other skills whatsoever?

Why is it always so black & white? :/

Ugh I really like the sound of a lot of this content but I'm not going to be able to play it :( quitting RS and focusing on exams when my membership runs out.

I'll probably still pop in every now and again to check out new quests (gotta maintain dat quest cape) but it looks like December is the end of RuneScape for me.

Thanks Jagex for 7 years of awesomesauce, and I wish you all the best of luck for the future of your game. With MMG leaving and a new CEO, the next era of RuneScape should be spectacular.

In terms of this actual thread, I'm really glad you're considering putting what was going to be used in Inventor into other skills. This was kind of the obvious idea from the start really. Just gotta make sure divine energy is used with it.

Zamorak Heist I'm really excited for, but surely that's just a working title and not the actual release name for the quest?? Elder God quest should be interesting too.

Glad Tuska's finally getting some content, though it would be rather strange if she DID manage to destroy Gielinor.. something tells me it simply can't happen (though it may have something to do with the thousands of World Guardians telling her to staahp)...

200th quest - now THIS is interesting! Parallel universe.. I like it. I like it a lot. Hopefully very difficult combat etc, requiring majority of previous quests?
I'm just a man; I'm not a hero.

As long as I get to upgrade my gear I'll be happy and if we got the skill I wouldn't be mad in the slightest but just to spit ball some ideas.

The machines could still exist, they would be just like anvils or furnaces. They don't require levels to work. Since we have great knowledge of divination and skills like smithing and crafting, we don't NEED another skill to bridge the gap of what we already know. For the creating aspect for new products and even for the machines themselves you could add it to construction. If you wanted to be fancy you could throw in runecrafting into the mixture for the imbueding process between the energies and the material. Instead of getting invention xp for creating/upgrading, you would get xp in divination and the respecting skills that follow.

Divination could just be a gathering skill for other skills like smithing and crafting, it can be a yin to many yangs. So it's not like if Invention gets scrapped divination wouldn't have a counter-part as long as you bridge it to the other skills. :)

EDIT-It wouldn't be a stretch to have divination and a skill alone get the job done because we already make low tiered items into new higher tiered items in divination already, transmute.
