How about not providing a vote option of an unknown new skill with limited details versus Prifddinas? Maybe that would have given you a more genuine response. But as it was, you set Inventor up to fail.
The hype for Prifddinas has been around for ever. 9 quests linked and 3 skirting round the edges. It should have been obvious to whoever thought up that great (sarcasm) poll option that Inventor wasn't going to make the cut.

From the wiki:
"players will be able to upgrade weapons and skilling tools. It will also be possible to create contraptions as well as lightning and soul weapons. Players will also be able to combine weapons that they already own."

This was a great opportunity to provide interesting new content for ALL players, with a possibility to keep growing the skill even past 99. It sounded exciting and intriguing, the thought of naming your weapon, the ponderings that went on about how you would do it and whether gems would be involved to help the customisation. Whether it was worth stocking up on materials as well as extra energies. There was your potential, to get everyone as excited about it as possible and instead you dropped the ball on it. And worse, now you're throwing the towel in on it completely??? Because why? Because it could never measure up against Prifddinas.

Well shame on you. You failed everyone who wants Inventor. So no doubt you'll carry on establishing polls which put Inventor in the worst possible light against the skills you will improve upon... Pathetic.
You may as well come right out with it, hold up your hands and tell the truth, you don't want to do it.

In all the years players have made numerous suggestions to benefit skills and you did nothing about them and now suddenly that's your grand plan.

I have to say I'm really happy with the way things have been turning around. I get a much better vibe from the community and am glad I started playing again myself just recently.

I look forward to the Tuska world event. Also I'm quite awestruck by the whole Ironman concept (especially the Hardcore Ironman). I have been following the Ironman scoreboards with interest. It's not something I'll be playing, but is very very cool nonetheless.

In response to one of the posters above, I would tend to agree that just because Prifddinas beat out Inventor there is no reason to "really [make you] question ... whether [you* had missed something." Prifddinas has been hyped in players minds for years, and was the natural choice for many people. But Inventor still sounds like something I'd want. These votes should be used to prioritize future content, and not as a means to disregard the loosing content completely.

That's about all I have to say for now. I'm looking forward to seeing what RS will become in the years and months to come!

If we're not going to get Inventor, then scrap Divination too!

If you're scared the content won't be worth it, then make it worth it! That's all you gotta do really!

Again most people like boss updates. So it may not be as popular. Don't get me wrong I am not against the boss updates its just that their is no balance. Maybe its to do with Guthixs death.

Agree.. While i do enjoy PvM from time to time.. the recent barrages of new bosses, gear/weapons, etc,... its just too overwhelming and coming by so fast! By Guthix, we might even have to move all the combat skill max from 99 to 120 going at this rate! They need to slow down on combat related material. Please develop new-lore-enriched quests w/ voice actors/actresses! Perhaps new contents within existing skills?

200th quest coming in 2015? So you are still ******** on the quester community and releasing less quests than ever before? Kindly **** off. Get rid of time intensive, expensive gimmicks like voice acting and give us more quests already! Once you go NXT, you never go back.
