Great to see - however I have a feeling the 'Account' page won't work as well as the in-game function...

... how right was I? Wasn't working well at all.

To be honest I'm quite pleased with the way it went now. I do find it odd how when someone has been checking on the name and attempting to change it for 30 minutes before the release still gets their name sniped which they were aiming for.
