I voted for World of Warcraft : Mists of Pandaria.
Why?
Well, for many reasons.
1) Community feedback. Blizzard developers are often on fansites listening to everyone, trying to find middle grounds & carefully planning what they do. Most of the Jagex Moderators seem to not give a toss what the community of RuneScape thinks.
2) Customer Support. RuneScape used to have alright customer support, and then the option to send messages with our Jagex inbox became impossible. On World of Warcraft I can open a support ticket and get a reply within an hour or two if it's considered an emergency (stuck somewhere for example), or within 48 hours if it's a trivial thing such as name availabilities .
3) Overhauling previous content. Much of RuneScape is now 'dead'. It could be from inefficiency or poor longterm planning. This makes lots of areas of the game unappealing to play in due to lack of anyone around. Vinesweeper, Mobilising Armies, Pyramid Plunder, Tai Bwo Trio village areas are deserted and simply not fun to play alone. Other things such as Duel Arena Tournaments, Fist of Guthix and the Crucible are dead content due to outdated rewards & changed mechanics. Blizzard on the other hand went back and modified over 3000 quests to appeal to current generation gamers. They changed the landscape which meddled with much of the nostalgia but still made the game fun & fresh, even for veterans.
4) Questing. Usually I say that RuneScapes strongest point is it's questing. The Combat system & 'skilling' (aka clicking something 10000 times) are not interesting, but RuneScape typically has the most advanced questing system of any MMO I've seen. What happened to questing this past year? Hardly any updates! Many of the questlines are still incomplete and players have been waiting years to get an ending. This isn't good enough. Telling a story is what Jagex is really good at and you seem to have let it down considerably. World of Warcraft questing is generally bland and boring.
