stop bitching fool. They say 40% - 50% of players is buying RS gold from farmers. What these bonds will do is stop that. It will also basically mean that F2P players will have a chance to buy membership with the hard work they did in game as people will buy these bonds for real money, and trade them for items or sell on GE.

I 100% support this initiative as it enables to do some things in game that have real life consequences as for example donating to charity.

If I was to attempt to provide membership for myself entirely with bonds, how would that work? Would swapping break your membership streak? I know many people out there would hate to lose their loyalty point streak for example; and if i was to stop again would i be able to continue with £3.50 a month that I pay now? Or would I have to pay the recently increased rates? Thanks for reading everyone :) PS Loving the charity donation idea.

For those who are wondering, bonds are certainly the buying of gp for real-world cash. Bonds are currently selling for about 12.2m each on the GE, so people can buy bonds with real-world cash and sell them for RS gp, effectively paying for RS gp with real-world cash.

It was only a matter of time before it came to this; I can only hope that Jagex will not destroy Old School.

MMG just told us in the live stream why the figures of 40-50% are wrong.

he said that he tracked trades and subsequent trades. This is why the data is MORE than likely wrong.

heres an example:

i take 100m off a friend of mine, purely friend based trade, no money involved. but my friend, in the past has bought gold. Thats two players classed as a RWT'er, instead of the single person who actually bought the gold. and he carried on to say this can be done through more trades than just 2. HUGE margin for error.

If this had gone to vote, i bet people would prefer free trade back over this.
