With the bot detection system working and banning the bots(1.1m goldfarming bots) will jagex reintroduce the banned account reinstatment bar. Started in march 2011 by Mod Stevew. Banned players (players not golfarmers) get a rollback and a new chance to play the game again. This not free (I think it was about $25? Not sure). The money can be used to invest in the bot detection sytem and to provide more game updates. Mod Mark said in the Bot Q&A livestream that players abused it to bot again. I think that now (with the detection system doing so well) would be a good time to start it again. Mod Mark said in 2010 in his friends chat that banned/inactive are bad for the game since they take nice user names and arent doing anything. What will b.a.r do? Reinstate banned accounts. Brining back the names. Adding more players to the game. So please tell me why this is a bad idea. Thank you and have a nice day :)

I, for one, applaud you Jagex.

This will always be a controversial update, but in my opinion, bonds' benefits outweigh the negatives. Yes, RWT now exists, but honestly it really is variable. Players decide how much that 14 days of membership/160 runecoins are worth. People can now buy Solomon's items/membership with in game gp, something I applaud. All while jagex can see a slight increase in profits due to bonds.

Now, Question time:
Currently, bonds are around 8m-10m, give or take. However since the price is determined by the players, it theoretically could be anything. Now the incentive of buying bonds to get gold I imagine will prevent bonds from skyrocketing (if bonds became 50m, there would be more buyers than if they were 10m), but is there any security from bonds becoming too cheap? If bonds drop below 5m, I imagine 3rd party RWT'ing would become more appealing then.

Are there any plans of action for when this happens?
Dahh!

My question is how will the illegal Goldfarmers not be able to use the bond system to their own advantage?

I can see that it can cut into their business, but that doesn't mean they'll stop.

My other question is does the 40%-50% of players have bought gold from goldfarmers statistic come from recent years (like post-release comp capes) from from the beginning of the game when you started fighting gold farmers?

will jagex implement a maximum cap on bonds being sold in the ge to prevent a similar situation of gold farming at the current ge exchange rate 1 day of membership is worth just a bit over 1 mil in gold and will jagex offer a means where game gold can be used in exchange for bonds directly from jagex allowing them to remove the gold from the game and in turn help stabilize the market
