Why not just remove free-trade, and implement a smarter system? This is just another way for you guys to profit off honest players' grief. In an attempt to undercut the goldfarming market, you have introduced the squeal of fortune...in an attempt to further those profits you have then promoted the bejebus out of a cosmetic shop (
not so bad at first, but the constant alerts on the homepage remind me of a really annoying ad you just want to clear off your smartphone
).
Now bonds. Once again, over a year after SoF was introduced, and you are trying once more to convince goldfarmers that they DO have a conscience, and should stop buying gp for cheaper rates than Jagex could ever offer them without destroying the economy.
That's simply not going to happen. A very slim percentage of those already goldfarming will take this bait you've laid out, the rest are players who've always wanted to literally buy their way to success but have behaved throughout the course of their play.
- Woo, yeah! It's going to moneysink the game...eventually! That means the amount of money I have may ACTUALLY be worth something in the end.
- Cool, people can finally get the leg-up they (
don't
) deserve as long as they throw a few bucks your way! That's like the FAIREST thing (
sarcasm
) I've seen an MMO do to counter its long-standing problems.
You guys had a whole year to reflect on how much we hated the Squeal of Fortune, because of how cheesy, cheap, and dishonest the system you implemented was. Using luck as a factor to get us hooked, and to try to turn a profit (
whilst undercutting the illegal competition
) is bad enough, and now you have the stones to use an in-game item as a catalyst for direct GP-buying?
"If you can't beat them, join them!"
Please understand Jagex, that we want RuneScape to succeed, and I'll take this to twitch*** if I have to, but this is not the way! Please combat them directly, do not compete please!
