1.What does Wise Old Man have under his bed?
2.Is it possible that Zanik could be involved in future quests?I have enjoyed all goblin quests and I'd love to see more.I like the idea of signature heroes,by the way.
3.Will The Drunken Dwarf play part in future Dwarf quests?
4.Are there any troll quests coming?
5.Could we someday actually see a thingummywhat?
6.Could there be a relationship between our character and some questcharacter in future quests(Like you did in Blood Runs Deep)?

1. It was originally meant to be a goblin. Actually, it was originally meant to be a normal goblin wandering around his bedroom, but the GFX guys thought it'd be funnier if it were under his bed. I'm aware that it looks nothing like a goblin.

5. Certainly, if we design an update featuring thingummywuts. I personally prefer leaving it as a mystery.

1. where are quest requirements based on? why do you set them if they aren't needed?

2. will you ever introduce a system where you can chose whether experience is given or not? this would be very helpfull for quests like dragon slayer.

---

1) Quest requirements are decided at quite a high level (i.e. by Mod Mark, the lead designer), and quite a lot of factors go into the decision. We *could* just release lots of quests with no requirements at all, but that would make the quests and skills seem like different games rather than parts of the same game. Quest requirements mean that being able to do a particular quest is like a reward for training your skill.

2) I don't think we have any plans for that.

a) Are you going back to working on patch notes/In Other News, or are you going to work on another content project?
b) I was hoping I could pass on a suggestion about Option Ordering with monsters...
c) Do you have anything else planned for the WOM? or is this is for now?
*) When can we expect to see any of these signature heroes?
e) Java or C++? ^_^

A. No, that's Mod Nexus's job now, and I don't want it back! I prefer coding. I still fill in for him when he's on holiday sometimes.

B. I would very much like to see your suggestion implemented.

C. I intended Love Story to be his "happily ever after" ending, but he's still available for future quests if anyone comes up with a cool idea.

*. Mod Fnord was working on a quest featuring one of those. I think he was waiting for graphics before he could finish though.

E. We work in an in-house language designed by Andrew. We call it RuneScript. The game engine team uses java.

"Will you be attending "Runefest" ?
Whats your greatest edition to runescape ?
Currently Is there any development on:
The long rumoured "Kudos Island"?
The 'Cursed Archipelago', of which Ralph the Pirate speaks?
The vampiric Castle Drakan?
Can you tell anything about the next double xp weekend is ?"

I certainly intend to attend RuneFest. I don't get to meet players for real very often, and I'm looking forward to it.

I think my best update is the ability to right-click on private messages you've received in order to reply to them. Not very exciting, but it's really useful to me. Mind you, I'm proud of monkfish and the Love Story quest too.

There's no development on any of those things at the moment, but I think Mod Liono will be continuing the pirate storyline in the not-too-distant future. Once he's finished on Dungeoneering for the moment, anyway.

I don't believe a date's been chosen for the next bonus XP weekend.

I'm afraid the rest of your questions are well over my head.

1) Do you ever feel limited by the limitations of the game engine to push quests out? As an example, we've been waiting for the Elven captial to open up for almost five years now, and it's gone through plenty of remakes and new looks over the years. So is it a limitation of the engine or your own imagination?

2) How many storylines are left to "complete"? For the storylines that are complete, does this mean that they won't be some small part of a future quest that doesn't necessarily involve them?

3) How often do Jagex Developers dive into the Stories/Quest Suggestions forums, and use snippets of player-made stories/suggestions in future quests?

4) Who is the steampunk fan that has been writing the Elemental Workshop series? If you can find him, give them a pat on the back/sugary item of their choice for their awesome work, but ask them to make some of the rewards less tedious to get next time! :P

5) Speaking of steampunk, do any future quests plan to follow a specific theme or culture? As a for-instance, Mayan-esque, ancient, runic, Asiatic, etc.

---

1) Sometimes we find we want to do things that the game engine can't support, but, for me, part of the fun of being in a creative job as working within the limitations you're given.

2) Off the top of my head I don't think I can think of a *complete* list of storylines, but the ones that come to mind are the Red Axe and Myreque series. Both of those are being worked on at the moment.

3) I think different developers look at the suggestions forums more or less often. Personally I don't really look at the suggestions forums, but I think some developers do.

4) Mod Dylan is behind the Elemental Workshop quests!

5) We don't tend to think "let's make quests around this theme" -- rather, we pick the theme based on the requirements of the quest.

"Will we ever be able to buy/make a Bow-sword such as the one created in the devious mind quest?
...does lowering the CPU in the graphics settings also make u lagg more? if not, whats the diff between max and minimum and how does it affect gameplay?"

I think bow-swords would be feasible to program, so there's no obvious technical reason why you can't have one. But I don't know of any such plans.

The CPU setting tells RuneScape not to use the whole of your CPU. Setting it to min tells the game to use your CPU as sparingly as possible, so the game will run more slowly. That's useful if you've got a laptop that overheats or drains its battery when it tries to use its CPU at max speed.

"Are you planning any clan chat updates, and if so what are they?"

We're very much aware that RuneScape's clan support is pretty limited, and the game engine team are designing improvements. I don't know exactly what, but it's a pretty high priority for Jagex.

Alex Kakashi:

1)What was the main role you both played in the quests you've developed? E.g. did you both write the quest lines, and help decide if the graphics the design team came up with were okay, or did you just "manage" the quest?

2) Do either of you work on anything else apart from Quests? :)

3) If your answer to 2 is yes, have you got any current content in the game of that type?

---

1) For most of the quests I've been involved in, I've been the main developer, which means I've written the storyline and all the in-game text, written the code to make it work, and worked with Graphics to make sure they came up with graphics that were suitable.

For a few quests, I've been the design reviewer, which is more like "managing" the quest. In the case of Love Story, Mod Ash was the developer and I was the design reviewer.

2) We both do! Quests are my main passion but I've also written activities and other quest content.

3) Among the non-quest things I worked on are Stealing Creation and the Great Orb Project, but there are lots more.

DobbelB: "Can you tell one of the projects you are working on right now?"

We're redesigning the player design screen that newbies see when they first create their accounts. The existing one is a bit plain, and Mod Massih R has designed something better. I'm helping him implement it. I guess that's not very exciting for you, but it's all I've got at the moment :-(

Mock Turtle:
"1) Do you plan on making Dissy and Zenevivia have any more quest adventures together with us?
2) Will Zanik be out adventuring alongside us in the near future?
3) Will the death of important NPCs (e.g. in While Guthix Sleeps) be something we might encounter again in the future?"

1. I don't have any such plans at the moment. They're both retired, she hates quests, and they're... well, getting on a bit in years. Still, I'm not ruling out a sequel if we get a great idea.

2. I'll leave that for John, she's his creation. And a mighty good one.

3. I'd expect so. Quests needn't always be happy-happy stories. I'm quite keen on getting the player emotionally involved in the game. Mind you, the player would have to be familiar with the deceased character for that to be effective, so it can't be done lightly.

DobbelB:

1) -Did you already start with the next dwarf quest. It is my favourite storyline, and you did a great job with the last part.
2) -Any hint on when we should expect the first signature heroes ingame (except Xenia of course). And are you going to make all the introduction quests?

----

1) Yes, I am working on the next dwarf quest as my main project at the moment. Earlier today I wrote some chat where you can try to argue with a crowd of angry dwarves...you'll find out why when the quest comes out. I'm glad you liked the last part.

2) I'm afraid I can't say when you'll see the Signature Hero quests. I won't be writing them all myself, or even most of them, although I'm hoping to be able to write some of them. The idea of the Signature Heroes is to have characters whom any developers can work on. I'll be overseeing all the Signature Hero quests to make sure the characters stay true to the original vision, though.
