I have been a player since late 2004. I have seen a lot of changes, some good, and some not so good. I have seen some of the top players of the game quit claiming that things such as "x all" options, easier options for nearly everything in the game, and other changes make things unchallenging and they don't want to play anymore. In many regards I agree and think that a lot of updates are unnecessary and are in place to make things easier for a few players that complain about the work they have to do to complete a level or challenge.
Sorry for that bit, now onto EoC. I am not a fan in any regards of this new system. I have been playing pretty avidly since it came out in hopes that I will gain an understanding, acceptance, and like the new changes. I haven't in any way. Before EoC I thought that messing with the hp and way damage is inflicted put a dent in what runescape was. Hitting a 40 was now terrible and hitting numbers in the hundreds seemed so unreal that it was unrelatable. Because of this, the game lost a lot of its thrill factor for me and players I have talked to.
EoC has turned things upside down. I understand the idea of improvements and there is a necessity to make some changes, minor or major depending on the situation. I have been through some huge changes and some are favorable but EoC has changed the game so drastically that it really isn't runescape anymore for a lot of people. When you totally flip into a different style and way of combat, the biggest part of the game, it changes how the game feels and what you can do with it. I honestly feel that Runescape is just like other games that some of my old friends used to play that I never got into. What I really got into was the style and format and way Runescape was. Now that it is totally changed it is sad to see one of my favorite things go. I have played as a member for many years and have gladly payed for what I was receiving.
