We know there are LGBT players in RuneScape (I am one of them), and there is probably one or two LGBT mods... Do you have plans to introduce LGBT NPCs to RuneScape in the future?

Thanks! :)

I thought I'd just answer this one fairly quickly.

First off, Jagex is an inclusive company, so we certainly have a few LGBT mods, but it's not my place to list them here. ;)

Also, there actually have already been one or two LGBT NPCs in game, admittedly they died quite quickly, but I was quite proud of getting them into game. If you look carefully at the Vengeance Saga, you'll be able to find two of Vengeance's original team lying next to one another, fingers inching away from one another as though their last moments were together.

Whether we see more in future, I could not say. Certainly I would imagine that some of the existing characters might be, but it's not been significant to the content they were involved with.

Edit: Mod John A has just confirmed to me that Zanik can actually be considered bisexual, in part because of her potentially romantic interest with the player. :)

If Saradomin has the Elder Crown, which can find any of the Elder Artefacts, does this mean he can find the Stone of Jas? If so, will we ever see the Stone make a reappearance, will it play any role in an upcoming quest? Or is there some special magic preventing its rediscovery?

Saradomin can use the Crown Archival to find the Stone of Jas, yes. It's likely why he's here.

Will the Stone make a re-appearance? Yes, most definitely.

You horrible people with your massive, rambling lists of unnecessary questions! Don't do this to me! Why did you have to open the thread early, Crow? Why?! :(

Mods John A and Osborne, please, please,
please don't forsake me
!

Forsaken!

The gods are all "god of <something>." Does each of the gods' <something> merely indicate the ideal they stand for, or does it actually indicate some power over Gielinor that the god has?

The gods don't have power over Gielinor in that way. In many cases (Bandos, for example) they won't have come up with the title themselves, while other gods will have titled themselves (Saradomin). It's what they aspire to represent.

As Armadyl has suffered the loss of having lost his Avianese- now that they are back, will he try to take them out of the conflict, possibly off of Gielinor to preserve the race?

Armadyl is an interesting character and certainly one of my favourite gods. I don't think he'd turn tail and flee, taking the aviansie with him, at least not immediately.

Don't forget that he knows the danger that the other gods pose to his people and he likely knows that running is not the answer.

Why do the Gods appear so weak? In "The Chosen Commander," we fight the Bandos Avatar, supposedly imbued with much of Bandos' godly power, yet it is only level 125! And we, a mere mortal, easilly (if you are a high combat level) defeat it! Furthermore, in "Icthlarin's Little Helper" you can defeat 4 gods, each only level 75! Is this really the limit to the power of the gods!?

Bandos himself would be more powerful than the Avatar you fought in The Chosen Commander. Note also that, although it had a combat level, the avatar was impossible to defeat without a specific weapon, so the combat level was only a part of its abilities.

Some of the gods’ symbols (such as Saradomin and Armadyl’s) are taken from Elder Artefacts. Is Zaros’ symbol taken from an Elder Artefact, or is it original?

Zaros's symbol is his own.

When is the next elven quest? Yes, it has been asked for ages but please, it has been so many years since the Within The Light.

Seren, does she has an evil side too? Or are you going to show each god's evil side one day?

Why Seren is very pacifist?

When is the next quest?

We've been having encouraging conversations about the elf quests recently. I know it's not much to give you, but positive noises are being made ("oooh", "hmmm", "wey")

Not all gods will have an evil side. But they will have weaknesses.

Seren is a pacifist because she believes that peace can only be achieved by segregating and living behind walls.

The next quest is soon after RuneScape 3.

It seemed to me that lately there has been emphasis on the flaws of Gods, and basically taking away the impression that they align with specific attributes- but more that they only seem to.

Would you say that you have been trying to make Gods seem more like powerful mortals instead of actual 'higher than thou' beings? (perhaps they resemble generals or cult leaders now more than the typical idea of a God?)

Yes, the way we're treating the gods (this applies to the younger gods - it may or may not apply to the elder gods) is that they're basically very very powerful mortals rather than anything transcendent. They are very powerful but not omnipotent or omniscient, they exist inside of time, they can (at least in principle) be permanently destroyed.

I think there's an interesting contrast to be made between the myths that mortals could have built up while the gods have been absent, and the way the gods really are. Saradominists in particular have come up with an elaborate theology about Saradomin as the all-powerful being, transcendent lord of the universe, when really it turns out he's just a big blue guy who can do lots of magic.
