Lately Saradomin has been cast as less-than-good, Zaros is thought to be evil but too little is known still to know for sure- and this paves the way for all Gods to start showing ulterior motives when they display an ounce of goodness.

(Or be killed like Guthix- although even his "goodness" was portrayed as having existed due to emotional trauma.)

Would you say that you want all Gods to be evil? Or are you now going to make evil Gods seem good?

I don't think it's right to say that all of the gods are evil. It's more that notions of good and evil are, ultimately, extremely subjective, what one person sees as good is not necessarily what everyone else will see.

Take, for example, Zamorak. If you look at his teachings, he promotes self-improvement by overcoming adversity. He does this by creating, or facilitating, situations that cause conflict or chaos.

On one hand we can say "He has disrupted the status quo, he must be evil" or alternatively we can say "he's showing us that stagnation is bad and we need to improve ourselves, he must be good". Both are perfectly valid arguments.

The same goes for Saradomin, Bandos, Armadyl, Brassica Prime and every other god in the game.

Where did Guthix learn that balance was the right way? Was it based on his experience? Was it something he learned from the elder gods? Something else?

Guthix allowed himself to die. He rage quit RuneScape. What, you can't just go some place else?? nope. "Just kill me." he says.

According to Ocellus, Guthix also taught that worship is slavery, but worship is voluntary while slavery is not. Worship cannot be slavery. The argument self destructs. Not very wise.

Is it accurate to say that Guthix was a foolish quitter that stumbled on power through blind revenge and then explained away his behavior after the fact?

Guthix went backpacking (no caravan - it's not carbon neutral) and saw many worlds before arriving on Gielinor. He was able to note what was going wrong on those worlds, and came to the conclusion that balance was the way to go. Part of me thinks he's right.

Guthix stayed to die for a good reason. You'll find out - later, on RuneScape 3! - why that might be.

I think Guthix's point is that worship is a form of voluntary slavery. Ocellus, in the journals, also makes a very good point for why worship might not be voluntary - that it's in our genes to obey and worship.

Which God would you say that the Lunar Isle Moonclan peoples would align themselves with or at least respect?

Honestly I'm not sure that any of the known gods would be their cup of tea. I imagine they'd more likely be godless, or wait to see if any of the gods have views that more align with their own.

Classically, Quests in RuneScape have been a lot about the journey, and less about the reward. With the exception of quests that unlock specific rewards (Dragon Equipment, Rune Chestplates, the like), many quests give very little in the way of rewards in comparison to the time invested.

My question is, moving forward, will quest completion continue to be more of a "completionist" goal, or will we see more robust quest rewards in the 6th Age? What is your philosophy on quest rewards in general? Are quests meant to be an activity in themselves rather than a means to an end (like MMOs commonly employ them today)? Very interested in a response.

As a quest-writer, I certainly intend my quests to be activities in themselves rather than just a means of getting a reward.

We have so much in RuneScape besides quests that our quests don't have to fill the role of players' main source of XP and wealth, like quests do in some other MMOs where you're always doing some quest or other but the quests are mostly variants of "kill 20 wolves". RS has far fewer quests, but each one is a unique creation rather than a framing device for some grind.

What I hope is that players will do quests when they are in the mood for a quest, rather than rushing through the quest and not enjoying it for the sake of getting the reward.

Can Elder Gods die?
If so, how?
Can their own artifacts kill them?

You've only just found out they're part of the Sixth Age and already you want to kill them! Harsh.

The answer is yes, they can die, but there are rules here. They're not going to have a weak spot that can be hit for massive damage, for example.

Can their own artefacts kill them? Needs more than that.

Q.) Could the Gods ever be voiced? Would you ever feel it appropriate to do this?

The gods are characters like any others, so if they appear in some content that's otherwise voiced, there's no reason the gods shouldn't be voiced as well. I'm not sure exactly what they'll sound like - it'll be interesting to see what the audio team decide decide to do to make them sound godlike!

Hi, I've got a few quick questions, I apologize if they have already been asked. Answer the first one if you can't get to all of them.

1. If Gielinor is the name of the planet, what is the continent that we play on called?

2. How many guardians of Guthix are there and is Quercus one of them?

3. Is Bilrach still possibly alive?

4. Are there any elder artifacts that we have seen before without realizing what they are?

1. Fantastic question! Obviously it doesn't have to have a name - the continents are named individually anyway - but you can probably tell that it doesn't have a name currently. Mod Raven has offered Ravania. Sounds like a place where vampyres go to dance!

2. There are not many guardians. It is my belief that you are only missing one. Quercus is not one of them.

3. You are correct, he is possibly still alive! You will find out who survived out of Bilrach and Moia very soon!

4. Yeppity yep yep!

Why is Bork, a creature of Bandos, under the control of Zamorak followers?

Orks traditionally worship Bandos, but that doesn't mean they'll never work for or with worshippers of other gods. A lot of Bandos creatures survive as mercenaries, and Zamorakians' money is as good as anyone else's.

3. Sliske got a nice graphical update, will the other Mahjarrat be recieving new graphics too?

Yes, the other Mahjarrat will be receiving an update. That's in a very early concepting stage, however. My aim is that the Mahjarrat have more distinguishing features - it's very difficult to tell the difference between Wahisietel and Akthanakos, for example.

4. Who has a greater grasp of the Shadow Realm, Sliske or Zaros?

Zaros. But Sliske is mastering it with each day, and he's recently gained the means to become more powerful. He just needs to grow accustomed to that power (and no, that doesn't necessarily mean he's a god).
