Thanks Mod Mat K for giving so much insight. I got some people in my Clan to read your posts (also on the Ground Control to Jagex thread) and they now give Jagex the benefit of the doubt rather than their usual complaints.

Yep, we know there are people that don't like it. But as I said earlier, the benefits from it are not significant and any impact will be minimal. The positive impact from the revenue is going to be significant. We cannot afford to stand still as a game and a company, if we do we will be left behind and that can be disastrous. The industry is more competitive now than it has every been and decisions like this have to be made so Runescape can stay competitive and continue to grow.

Anyway, I didn't want to get drawn into a discussion about RaF on this thread, but I can assure that all your concerns will be passed on. Sadly, I have to go shortly, but I will be back tomorrow and others will be popping in and out.

It's a shame you feel this way. I always thought one of the most unique things about RuneScape, and one of the reasons I loved it, was because it wasn't Generic MMORPG #823. There was no buying items, buying gold, powerleveling. There was no getting in-game benefits for real world money.
It's a shame to see that Jagex believes RWTing is the way to progress in the games industry. Max Quest Points. Max Cool Points. Host of the Immensely Popular Lords of the Wait.

What a load of ****!
if Jagex made £250million would they be willing to give 10% of that away? after all you've been committed enough to get that amount of money.
How do you possibly hope to get the game to grow when you don't address the issues there are. If i refered anyone to this game i suspect they would take one look at the bots etc and log straight out, no new members.

We understand that the company needs to make money; you just need to try and not alienate your current player base in the process.

I miss Mod MMG's Friends chat.
I liked all those people I met in the FC and i'm very sorry that it closed down.
It was about September 2010 when I joined the FC.

I'll still remember my early days on the FC.

So, we will remember this Friends Chat forever and the friends we made.
(Sorry for saying this, I just wanted to talk.)

i dont see how this helps you make any money or make this game more popular, all this change did was hurt the game!

Should it not be:
"we know that the majority of the RuneScape community don't like this, except of course the botting and RWT companies, they absolutely love it because they can earn levels and money more quickly and also they create more accounts with membership, meaning more money for us!"
Why not just copy and paste that on each RAF thread?

It's sad to hear of the close of a JMod chat TBH... ATM I'm fairly worried that Mod Chrisso's chat will be closed as I keep continually getting the message "Your rank is not high enough to join this friends chat."

Anyways main reason I am posting is for Mod Mat K. Quite frankly you have NO IDEA how disenchanted some of the user base on RuneScape is with the current actions that have been implemented or discussed. So many people I talk to are against your "Refer a Bo... Friend... Programme" that Mod Nexus foolishly put his name to. The programme gives users a directly unfair benefit from using their money, paying you, so they can get an exp boost.
This is about as unpopular as the idea to make loyalty points something that had an effect in game - something many users had been assured would not happen.
Frankly, I started playing RuneScape in 2008 after being introduced to it, I soon joined Rune Tips fansite and I heard all the stories about Geoff Iddison introducing Gnome Copters and trying to turn Jagex into a CashCow. And now unfortunately, this has also been applied to Mod MMG.
Dwarven Axe (the in game pop up too), RaF, BXPW, Loyalty Points.
I had hoped all of these ideas had been left alone and we were not going to have Iddison #2... However, I was wrong.
Just my 2 pence ATM.
(Seeing as I never really use RSOF I'll try and find this "Voice of Reason" topic, and another suitable one to post this message should it be required; otherwise, feel free to pop on Tip.It Forums like a few JMods do from time to time, and PM me (still Ezkaton) on there.)

The recent marketing is one of the things that we have to look at, along with clans and other unique upcoming content. I don't want you to think that this is the only method we have to move RS and Jagex forward.
