Extra EXP is ALWAYS significant no matter how little it is.
Let's say it takes 250m to get 99 Prayer (my number is probably way off, but it's just for demonstration purposes.
250m/10 = 25m being saves. Not to mention the countless hours of time. And furthermore, this example doesn't even account for Effigies, which are already overpowered.
Max Quest Points. Max Cool Points. Host of the Immensely Popular Lords of the Wait.

Our belief Trevor is that 25 million XP out of 250 million XP is not a lot. If someone is committed enough to get that amount of XP, the 10% extra is not going to make any difference to them.

As for the difference between Jagex RWTing and RWT companies doing it is that we do it without negatively impacting on Runescape and use the revenue generated to make Runescape better. RWT companies create the bots, bot the game at the expense of players and keep the cash. Everytime we sell membership we are real world trading. Runescape wouldn't exist if we didn't do it.

Edit: MMG doesn't feel the need to respond on his own thread either it seems.

'Unfortunately we have also had a number of players abuse the Channel recently which has caused problems for those who simply want to talk to their friends'
The great, magic MMG doesn't need to be in his chat to see what happens there. Wow.
I'd like to quote you if you don't mind. Not off the forums, it's a little old now. It's you though, don't worry.
“You’re always going to have trolls, but those who love your updates are completely silent. You have to measure all this feedback. Part of it is quantitative, part of it is qualitative, part of it is gut instinct.”
Taken from an article on develop-online.
I hate to say it, but your 'instincts' are beyond off the scale. An idiot could see the unpopularity RAF had caused and yet you say nothing?
And to add Salt to the Wound (quite pleased with that pun) you have the brass to advertise it on the lobby?
We're not trolls. We are your under-valued customers.

I've most certainly been keeping up on what the moderators have been saying about this, which is why I've been picking out specific issues I've been finding with their arguments.
(I DEFINITELY appreciate you making those posts though)
I'll drop the bot issue (it's beaten to death), along with finances (as you've answered that and it's clear you can't give the answers people would want yourself because it isn't your job ;) ), and I'll concede that in the long run, the XP bonus isn't THAT much when scaled to the person using it.
As such (hopefully while you're still here) I'd like to narrow down a bit. I'm trying to view things from Jagex's side, but so far I haven't seen much from Jagex to pretend they were us.

As a gamer yourself, how would you feel if a game had never allowed shortcuts for rich players in the real world (you buy gold, you're cheating and get banned) suddenly released an abusable gimmick which allowed them to cough up 5 membership in order to get a 10% xp bonus for a month? I know how a lot of us feel. Bad. It's not about how strong the bonus is, it's more about the fact that a person now really CAN cheat some free xp by making a false account.
If you listed this program abuse as a punishable offense (like they admit in-game or you find something like they're from the same IP and the referred person never plays), we'd feel a lot better because you WOULDN'T be encouraging abuse.

Also, if you could stretch your mind a bit, could you try and think of what reasons a small number of loyalty points or outfits (non-advantage rewards) would be more unbalanced than an XP bonus according to the other Mods? They'd still encourage people to refer but wouldn't impact advantages or gameplay in comparison to other players the way XP does.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer questions though, even if you don't read this batch.

Going by that logic, say someone who had a lot of money bought some more off a gold dealer he'd already have so much gold that the benifit gained would be minimal..
As for negatively impacting Runescape, have you not seen all the discontent and the image your painting for yourselves?
