That may be so, Zero Kiryu, but considering the, ah... *Nature* of the last parts of the second book...
I do not intend to cause any offence, but I would actually be interested in hearing your thoughts, if you imagined there might not be a third book after this. To be honest, this sort of thing delights me - It appeals to a certain eccentricity of mine.
...So what you made of the ending would be very nice.
What was it? Did you not wish to get your hopes up for a third? Did you imagine the tale would conclude 'off-screen'?
No, no, I know. I simply mean... The way the later parts of Return to Canifis were... Did that not give you a hint that there would be a third book?
Of course, it is possible that I might have known about the third book even before I read Return to Canifis, so for someone who did not know, perhaps the later parts might not have had the same effect.
*SPOILERS FOR RETURN TO CANIFIS LIE ABOVE!*
Anyway... On another note, good news! Regarding the title and release date mentioned by Halo Person... I was talking to an ingame friend of mine who has read the novels (although I had forgotten that he had) and who attended both RuneFest*...
I told him I imagined he had heard of the apparent title and release date leak, and he said that at RuneFest, they were given advertisements for the third book (as part of their goody bags, did he say?), which apparently said 'Legacy of Blood - Coming June 2012' or something...
...and showed an *image of the cover*, which, according to him, showed a werewolf! He hypothesises this might be Gar'rth. However, he also notes the cover has the current RuneScape logo, so he believes it possible the cover might change totally by release.
He also claims the advertisement contains artwork of a woman with red hair, red eyes and purple robes...
My friend believes this is indicative of a connection to the Vyrewatch.
...I have a hypothesis of my own on who the woman might be.
wow I read this book and it was utterly amazing/epic/ultimate/awesome/whatever... I had to like all the fighting with the werewolves and vyrewatch. but there needs to be a mahjarrat in one of these books. Roll on book three!!!!!!
Think before posting, and if you can't think then don't post.
I didnt really enjoy this book as i did betrayal at faladoor. I understand that the turn to focus on the characters sounds interesting, but the book came out a little to... soppy, for me.
However, the writing style is superb, and keeps in colaboration with rs preety neatly, and i guess its just personal preference on which i like the first book more than the sequel (the first had an epic war full of carnage, which was increibly interesting, alongside the character progression).
Hopefully, if a third were to be produced, perhaps a war between Varrok and Morytania, with a thrilling war.
My score on this book: 4/5. it was a great, enjoyable adventure, but the lacking of a proper war went me wishing for something more.
